## **Chair’s Report** 

Good evening and a warm welcome to everyone. 

I took the role of Chair on part way through the financial year, a year of uncertainty particularly regarding the ongoing use of the building, a possible merger with another local setting, the resignation of our previous Chair and a global pandemic. Going forward our setting will benefit from long term stability to help achieve our ambition of ‘Outstanding’ recognition from Ofsted. 

I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that all Committee members are volunteers and without them the setting wouldn’t be able to open or run and consequently the setting could be vulnerable without a strong committee. The bigger the committee, the more sustainable. Thank you to our existing Committee Members for their time and efforts. 

Over the last few months, during the height of COVID 19 restrictions, we have welcomed a new manager to our setting, Gemma Rowling. Gemma has made a positive impact on our setting. She has worked tirelessly since her arrival, for which I am grateful and I look forward to continuing to work with her. I would also like to thank Emma Watson for stepping in as temporary manager earlier this year and for picking up many other jobs that have arisen. 

Our building lease is about to expire and the building is expected to be transferred to Norfolk County Council who has asked us to consider how we may like to utilise the building going forward. We are working on business proposals and will work closing with Norfolk County Council to achieve the best possible outcome for our families. 

I would like to thank our dedicated staff team for their continue commitment, they do an amazing job and I look forward to working with them over the next year. Finally, I look forward to welcoming anyone interested in joining our Committee and becoming part of our team.
