BEVERLEY COMMUNITY CHURCH

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025

Beverley Community Church was established in 1988 as an independent charismatic evangelical church.

Trustees

The trustees who served during the year and since the year end were as follows:

H. Bashford

R. Bradbury

N. Clark

The existing trustees appoint any new trustees following the provisions laid out in the Charity’s governing instrument.

Objectives

The emphasis of the church has always been to achieve growth by new birth rather than relocating the saints. Our desire is to see every member identify and come into the fullness of their gifting whilst developing their character to the image of Christ. We believe Beverley Community Church should be a place where all people are accepted on their path to find faith in God through Jesus Christ regardless of ethnicity, gender, disability or sexual orientation. Our desire is to engender a love for the lost amongst us and we believe that one of the primary functions of the church is to reach out to those who do not yet know Christ.

Activities

Beverley Community Church has continued to maintain its focus on three key areas:

The Church has one elder whose company invoices the Church for management fees. The elder is responsible for the main content of the teaching and this is supplemented by the input of members of the Church.

Pastoral care is provided by the elder, homegroup leaders and through the Church’s counselling service.

The Church holds a weekly meeting for worship and teaching on Sunday mornings at The Beverley Memorial Hall and online via Facebook. These meetings are available to the general public.

The weekly meetings are supplemented by homegroup meetings in homes and at The Armstrong Centre, Beverley. There is also a weekly online prayer meeting.

The elder represents the Ground Level Network of churches at Churches Together England. He is very active in promoting Christian unity in the locality through facilitating ministers’ meetings and supporting Churches Together in Beverley. He also assists with the training of emerging leaders within the Ground Level Network. He also runs a Bible School for anyone desiring to further their biblical and theological knowledge.

BEVERLEY COMMUNITY CHURCH

REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025 (CONTINUED)

The Church continues to provide encouragement and teaching to churches in India with the elder making one visit this year going to several locations.

The Church provides office space for a worker from Community Money Advice to provide financial advice and assistance to those in debt.

The annual women’s weekend away took place in April 2024 and was well attended.

The Church’s counselling centre, The Restoration Centre, has continued to offer prayer and personal counselling to anyone who needs it and provides funeral services to the bereaved.

The Church hosted a number of community events which were open to the general public including quiz nights, murder mystery nights and a barn dance. Activities aimed at bringing the community together. On the first Sunday of each month the Church provides a meal at no charge after the morning service which is open to anyone from within and outside the church community.

The elder continues to serve as a governor at Keldmarsh Primary School.

The Church has continued to sponsor two children through the charity, Compassion UK and has also supported the following groups:

The Church continues its association with the Ground Level Network of churches which provides mutual support and development. The annual Ground Level Network conference was held in August 2024 now under the name of Awaken. The conference returned to its weekend format and was enjoyed by all who attended.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention
