During 2020 EBKA carried out numerous
meetings for members, involving education
via lectures, chiefly virtual, but no apiary
meetings because of the covid pandemic;
training for new beekeepers was also
restricted to theory, although individual
mentoring was given for hive maintenance
when this was allowed;increased provision
in training for members taking
examinations in beekeeping through the
British Beekeepers’ Association has been
possible via Zoom; provided an information
service to its members and the public re the
Asian hornet and other bee pests and
diseases; offered a swarm collection
service to the public of Essex via the
website; no major shows in Essex have
been possible this year to inform the public
about beekeeping and the problems facing
the insect population in the environment,
nor organised Honey Shows, both at
County & Divisional level; answered media
questions about environmental stresses on
bees|

Association for the year ended 31 st Dember 2020.

As the charty trustees of the Association you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordan with the requirement of the Charities Act 2011 (Ihe Acr).
I report in reSct of my examination of the Charity's accounts, carried out under section
145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable
Directions given ty the Charrty Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent Examlner's Statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my
attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any

I report to the Trustees on my examination of the accounis of The Essex Beekeepers,
Association for the year ended 31 st Dember 2020.
Re8ponslblllty and basls of report
As the charty trustees of the Association you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordan with the requirement of the Charities Act 2011 (Ihe Acr).
I report in reSct of my examination of the Charity's accounts, carried out under section
145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable
Directions given ty the Charrty Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent Examlner's Statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my
attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any
material respect:
accountiThJ records were not kept in respect of the Charty as required by section 130
of the Act; or
2 the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with tl
examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper
understanding of the accounts to be reached.
