Doddington Recreation Committee Pavilion a Recreation Grournl ANNUAL REPORT 1st APRIL 21- 31" MARCH 22 Objedlves and Actlvltles The object of the charity shall bo to provide for the inhabitants of Doddington and the neighbtyjrhood in the interests of social welfare facilities for recreation and leisure-time occupation. for the purpose of relaxation and with the object of improving the conditions of life fDr the said inhalxtants. on land kn¢)wn as 'Clapham Common Recreation Field. and on any adjacent land that the committee may manage in the future. The Recreation Committee are committed to enabling as many people as w>ssible to have use of the Pavilion and Recreation Field. The Committee conllnue to provide facilities on the field for, football, both senior and youth football, currently there are three pitches at the ground. one full size and trwo junior pitches. An excellent ¢rid(et square. regularly maintained to a high standard. A crwuet lawn which is kept in condition by Fenland Mallets Croquet Club. The hall is in ￿ular use by; GirlGuiding Doddington (Guides, Brownies. Rainbows) have their weekty meetings in the Pavilion and the Committee are keen to accommodate any improvements 8nd alterations. Fltness classes are hekl weekly. Doddington Wl hdd their monthly meetings in the hall. their membership being around 45 ladies. Achlevemonts and Pgrformance The replac8m8nt IIcM)r has been met with approval from ragular hirers and or￿ff bookings. also enabling the hall to be kept clean easier. Th8 replacement fold up chairs that are stored on a Irolley have made It slmple to remove them from the hall. creating more space for activitles. A successfvl bid was (nade to AMEY for replacement fencing around the perimeter of the carpark. The carpark and playground now have a new low maintenance fence which should last for many years. Another successful was made to the FA for new grass cutting rnachinery. The new machinery should ensure the Cutting of the field is an easierjob going foThvatds. The machinery is yet to be The playground has been cleaned and new signage displayed. The recent ROSPA ￿port has highlighted that the playing surface requires maintenance and that the swing 15 to be kepi under regular observation for signs of deterioration.

Isle ol Ely Federation Women's Instibjte have made regular use of the PavIl￿n for Federation meetings and for six day sessions patchwork course. The clean, warm. cornfortable surroundings are frequently praised. Two weddtngs are booked for the summer of 2022, as well as the retum of Doddlngton Cam5val and new for this year, Dlxldington Village Summer Show. The Guides. Brownles and Rainbows have their meetings on Tue8day and Wednesday evenings. Doddington Wl hold their monthly meetlngs in the hall and have made further Ix)okings for craft activities. Flmnclal Rovlow Total receipts on unrestricted funds were £9066.93. A tot81 of £24844.93 was recelved from grants to wrchase replacement exterior fencing and now recyded plastic picnic benches. £10667 of this was a COVID related grant from Fenland Distrld Council. The net income for the year was £7765.24. This indudes the grant from FDC and the contiibution towards the new fencing. It Is the Recreati￿ C(xmmittee's policy to maintain a balance on unrestricted funds, which Is £5000 in the rv68p￿ bank accounts to cover emergency situatlons that may arise from time to time. The balance of £27485.24 is held on unrestricted funds, after designations, at the year*nd exceeded its target. Structure. Govemance and Management The charity is governed by a constitution vthich states that a tnjst Is made up of committee members who are etected at an annual AGM. The committee are reS￿nSIble for rnaking decisions on 811 matier5 of general conc8m and IM[than￿ to running and upkeep of the Pavilion and Ground. The constitution states that there should be at least three custcKlian trustees at any one time and these shall be elected by the cur￿nt trustees. The custodian trustees will erKleavor to ensure that the gr￿nd is used ts the purpose of stM)rt and r￿ation only.
