## **Structure, governance and management**

The charity is governed by a constitution. It is a committee made up of representatives from the local community and parents. The trustees are elected at the Annual General Meeting. It is run under Pre School Learning Alliance guidelines and is Ofsted inspected.

## **Objectives and activities.**

With the support and co-operation of parents, we aim to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for the children, where they can:

Play, learn and enjoy themselves.

Develop independence, communication skills and the ability to concentrate.

Learn to co-operate with adults and other children.

Take pleasure in new experiences.

Build self-confidence.

Offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.

## **Achievements and Performance.**

The pre-school continues to be a popular choice for the local parents.

Ofsted May 2025 graded the setting as good overall.

“Children appear to feel safe as they settle happily into the environment.” Ofsted 2025.

## **Financial Review.**

The trustees recommend that the pre-school always has in the bank reserves to cover one term’s expenditure.

## **Declaration.**

The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees’ report above.

Signed on behalf of the charities trustees.

## **STATEMENT OF ASSETS AND LIABILITES**

The charity shows a £7,346 surplus for the financial year. Council funding has increased, from last year, in line with the greater numbers of children attending the nursery. Expenditure, on resources and building costs, remained broadly similar to previous years although staff costs have increased in line with the additional hours required to support the bigger intake.

These accounts have been prepared from bank statements and paperwork provided to me by Red Barn Pre-School.
