Treasurer’s Financial Report For The Year ending 31[st] August 2024
Purpose:
The principle purpose of Stanwick Pre-School is to provide affordable, quality care to enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age. The pre-school is funded through government grants which is received for the free child places, fees income and fundraising activities.
Review of the Year:

Changes to deputy with promotion within the team

Continued strong relationships with community, in particular Village Hall and Parish Council.

Pre school was sadly subject to vandalism but the local community rallied together and helped to raise £608.06 towards the cost of replacement of toys.

Successful fundraising year raising a grand total of £3047 from various projects and events, most that has been raised in 4 years.

Minimum wage increases in April 2024.

Changes to Government funding with 2 year olds receiving 15 hours funding from April 2024.

Above 2 points led to decision to increase provision of service charge to £1 per session and fees to £6.50 for 3&4 year olds and £7.50 for 2 year olds.

Total Income for the year was £ 123,407

£97,381 coming from the Early Years funding.

Fees and charges to parents for sessions amounted to £22,303

The Pre-school organised the Scarecrow Festival and raffle, Christmas tombola and attended the Summer Fete at the school for fundraising, raising a total of £1439.96.

The pre school Manager applied for Tesco smarter starts and we won, raising £1000.

Donations from the Stanwick Running Club of £300.
Expenditure:

Our total expenditure for the year was £ 128,206

Staff wages amounting to £99,837.

Employer pension contributions amounting to £3496.

Rent of the village hall £14,664

£298.08 for the Zoolab end of year party which was a swap from the annual school trip. Parents donated £69 towards cost of this.

Reserves are necessary in order to cover any unforeseen emergencies. It is Stanwick Pre-School’s policy to maintain a level of reserves which is equal to at least 25% of the annual expenditure. For this year it means that the pre-school target amount of savings is £32,051.79.

Total of £515.07 in fundraising pot for 2023/24.

The accounts will be going to be independently examined and signed off by a qualified accountant.

Independent Examiner's report to the trustees of Stanwick Pre-School Playgroup
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity ('the Trust') for the year ended 31 August 2024.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
• the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair' view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
