Trustees’ Annual Report for the year ending 31 August 2024
Roselands Primary School Parent School Association (PSA)
Charity Number: 1030732
Roselands Primary School, Lynmouth Avenue, Paignton, Devon, TQ4 7RQ
Trustees: Claire Wing (Chairperson), Janet Heath (Treasurer)
Charity overview: Roselands Primary School PSA is an organisation run by volunteers and is predominantly made up of parents of children who attend the school. In addition to parent helpers, the charity is occasionally supported by school staff and members of local community groups who also volunteer their time to help at fundraising events. All members of the school community are invited to the charity's regular meetings, including its Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is held each October. Trustee’s nominate themselves at each AGM and are voted in by the attendees of the AGM. For the year ending 31st August 2024, the Trustee’s are made up of an elected Chairperson and Treasurer.
The purpose of the charity is to provide pupils at the school with resources and experiences that are not covered or funded by the school’s budget. By providing facilities and equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils, and running events that fall outside of the curriculum, the charity aims to enhance the pupils' experience of school beyond basic academic expectations.
Charity activities and objectives for the year: In the 12 month period from 1st September 2023 to 31st August 2024, fundraising activities focused on raising money for a shelter/covered play area for the school as well as fulfilling other smaller donations to the pupils (see account spreadsheet below). The committee organised several large scale events which raised the majority of our funds, as well as running multiple smaller fundraising initiatives. Fundraising events for the year ending 31st August 2024 with details of expenditures, funds raised and profit are as follows:

The majority of profit generated by the charity is by running events (trading and charitable events), with a small profit being made through donations (bags2school, Easy Fundraising, Amazon Smile and parent donation). As well as making a profit to be able to allocate towards funding the planned sheltered play area/veranda, the pupils benefitted from the charity donating the following:
-
Hot chocolate and biscuits for the bed time stories event
-
A chocolate/sweet gift for each child at Easter
-
Each child received a book at Christmas
-
Monthly donations of books for the school library
-
A contribution for each year 6 pupil towards their activities week
The main charity expense that has been paid out for the year ending 31st August 2024 was for a shed for the charity to be able to store resources within the school grounds. Although this was a large initial outlay, it has allowed for bulk buying of stock and storage of donations which will provide income in the future during trading activities.
The charity is currently in a positive position with its accounts, with all funds being held in a business account which is accessible by the Treasurer and Chairperson.

Request for In-Kind Donations
Subject: Seeking Donations for Roselands Primary School's PSA ran Summer Big bash
To whom it may concern,
On Friday 19th June 2026, Roselands Primary will be hosting our Summer big bash fun day. This event is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, and its success depends on the generosity of neighbors like you.
We are currently seeking donations of new items, gift certificates, or things that we can raffle off or sell to raise funds for 30 more Ipads that the children use in class along with the charging stations for the Ipads and also more equipment for the children to use during break times.
By donating an item, you will:
-
Support Local Education: Help provide 316 students with the resources they need to succeed.
-
Gain Visibility: Your business’ name will be prominently displayed in our newsletter mentioning the donated item, reaching our entire community of approximately 400 parents and staff.
-
Make an Impact: 100% of the proceeds from your item/s will go directly toward purchasing the ipads for starters and then more supplies with anything else we raise.
What we are looking for: We welcome all kinds of donations, but popular items often include:
-
Gift cards to local restaurants or shops.
-
Professional services (e.g., photography sessions, landscaping, car detailing).
-
Themed gift baskets or high-quality merchandise.
-
Tickets to sporting events or performances.
-
Toys and cuddly teddys
-
Arts and crafts items.
How to Donate: If you would like to contribute, please contact me on 07852824043 or simply reply to this message. We are happy to arrange a pickup at your convenience, or items can be dropped off at the school office by 29/05/2026.
Thank you for your kindness and for helping us invest in our students' futures.
Best regards,
Ame Heath
