GSL Report 2021
I would like to start by thanking all the Leaders and Young Leaders for their hard work and commitment to enable us as a group to continue Scouting during Lock down. We have all had to learn new skills and ways of working and have supported all the sections to continue to achieve badges and awards.
I would also like to thank the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Parents for continuing to support us during this time. For engaging with the Virtual Camps and ZOOM meetings.
We have successfully and safely resumed face to face – and despite all the challenges – I believe all the young people have enjoyed this and look forwards to being able to give a more varied programme.
Thanks to a grant from the Council we have improved the Camp Fire area and built a raised bed. |This area is fully accessible and can be used in all weathers.
At the moment we have one Beaver Colony – due to Heather being on maternity leave, she has a new son called Benjamin – congratulations to her and her family. We will be opening Otters in September with new assistant leaders – Heather will return at Christmas.
Bev and Laura have achieved their Wood beads for their sections and Nicky has received Wood beads for Cubs.
We will be loosing Scott as a young leader – wishing him luck when he joins the Army in September. He has been a valued member of the group for may years.
We look forwards to a more usual year and are starting to plan camps and trips.
Thank you all for your continued support.
