Section C Objectives and activities
The aims of the Pre-school are to enhance the development and education of children primarily under statutory school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide for the needs of their children through community groups and by: (a) offering appropriate play, education and care facilities, family learning and extended hours groups, together with the right of parents to take Summary of the objects of the responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of such groups, charity set out in its ensuring that such groups offer opportunities for all children whatever governing document their race, culture, religion, means or ability; (b) encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their families and promoting public interest in and recognition of such needs in the local areas; (c) instigating and adhering to and furthering the aims and objects of the Pre-school Learning Alliance. Charfield Pre-School is an Ofsted registered non-profit making pre-school managed by a parent committee. Operating from the Foundation Room in the grounds of Charfield Primary School, we are open 5 days a week and can accommodate up to 20 children per session.
The learning environment is based on individual learning through play. We are committed to meet the requirements of the EYFS - the standards set for learning, development and care for children up to 5 years of age by the Department for Education and Skills.

All our staff are qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 2 standard and you will always experience a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Our Vision:

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main • 2019-20 was a very difficult year due a change in leadership and

achievements of the charity the first Covid Lockdown. However due to Grant assistance and
-
during the year hard work by the team we managed to stay open.
-
• Income remains good as a result of an increased uptake and extended opening hours. At an operational level we managed to achieve a surplus. There are significant cost pressures due to meeting minimum wage requirements which are not met by corresponding increases in the Government Education Grant payments.

• From previous years funds the pre-school laid two large areas with artificiall turf to further enlighten the childrens experience.

• We had a very successful fundraising year raising additional income of £4,200, the majority of which was spent on new toys and equipment for the children.

There is a reserve fund in place of £12,000 maintained at the end of each financial year. This is kept in order to fund staff redundancies etc. should the facility have to fold.
