Fowey Preschool AGM Trustees Report
November 2025
Welcome everyone to this year’s AGM.
Staffing -— We sadly said goodbye to Lucy who left her role as deputy manager, Lucy was a true asset to preschool over the last 14 years. We took on a new deputy manager and an apprentice — neither worked out. We then decided to promote Summer to deputy manager and finish the year with a reduced team. We have a student from St Austell college with us who is very good and reliable.

Fundraising — we made a fantastic profit of £340.92 from the from the Christmas fair and £103.55 from the ‘Santa’ sponsored walk down town. The Easter Fair also did well and made an impressive £530.00. We also made £263.70 from the school Lottery. Fundraising did however not raise as much as previous years due to low numbers of staff and the ability to get events in place.
Finances — We made an overall profit of £8895.27 for the year ending 31.08.2025 (With what we took in from fees, funding and fundraising). This was the first year we had of paying the higher percentage towards employee NI and Tax. Also, when an employee started earning over £5000’s we then had to start paying NI for them too. We managed to cover these costs and still remain in profit. Finances maybe be impacted in April 2026 due to the national minimum wage going up by 4.1% (50p an hour) for staff over 21 years old and apprenticeship wages increasing by 6% (45p an hour). There
