te) mn fo, , : Carol Webster, : : avs @ Castle Farm, 288 2230 4 i TI rT Telephone: 0114 a4 2025 was a very busy year but brought the financial rewards we had been striving for. 4[] | wideBookings variety were of consistent uses. The newly and with our formed weekly Art and groupsCrafts this group kept the gained Hallin popularity in demand and for a d became well established during the year. The Quilting group made it their project for 2025 a to create a quilt for the Hall to depict all its user groups and we are looking forward to the = unveiling of this in March. ;x We are acutely aware of our responsibility in keeping the building well maintained and 44 thevisually year welcoming, but thanksSadly our Village Hall sign became a victim of the severe gales early in a to a successful grant application this was replaced with a very smart and " ‘ more informative one. A grant application to the Bridge Shop covered the cost of necessary plastering in the entrance porch and an unsightly patch in the kitchen.
Our regular Cream Teas have gained us a very favourable following and the first Mothering Sunday Afternoon Tea was such a success it will be repeated in March. Not forgetting the Dads, we are planning to host a Father’s Day event in June. The Summer Fayre was busy but brought very deserving rewards as did the Harvest Auction, the Christmas Fayre and for ‘the first time the Rag Wreath Making event in early December.
:
: Our fundraising events are always busy and this highlighted the need for a more efficient layout of the kitchen. We contacted a Commercial Kitchen Catering Company well known to us and had plans drawn up. Whilst we knew this was an expensive and ambitious project, Stocksbridge Town Council were holding a Participatory Budgeting Event in October so we applied and were awarded the maximum of £20.000 towards this. In early December we applied to Awards for All to partnership fund this and we are keeping our fingers crossed for success so that our project can proceed. The shortfall will be made up from our Own funds. . It has to be said that our younger Trustees are driving things forward with their fresh and © : innovative ideas whilst taking the weight from older shoulders. It is heartening to know that they will continue building on the foundations of previous years and that the future of the Hallis in safe hands. All our events are now on our Facebook page with social media giving us the coverage we could never have envisaged years 480. We look forward to what 2026 will bring with confidence.
