Snettisham Bobtails Pre-school has bocn education and benefitting the community of
Snettisham for the 40 yèars and registered with Ofsted in 1992- receiving a GOOD
ratlng a88in in our latcst inspection - Decembcf 2019. We welcome children in the Ivcal
community frorn every background.
Our work with thildren from 2 years to school a%e mcans we help children learn and
develop important social skills Such as turn takln& %taying safe, communication xnd
lan8Ua8e development, teamwork and conflict resolution. All these skills &nable our chlldren
to be a responsible rnernber of their local community.
Our work means we work closely with the villak* primary school, Hunstanton Peer Support
Group. This work 15 of bèft&fit to our chlldren to Prepare ihem for startin8 %chool by visitinE
th¥ rectption class within the Sn¥ttisham Primary School.
The work we do with the children in Ouf care Is of great benefft to the wider community as
our staff are a sourc& of information and expert knowledge on rnany aspocts of childcare
nd w& impart thls knowled8e to our families.

At the beEinnlng of September 2023, we had 20 chlldren start with Numbers on the

and rose again to 23 at Easter.

¥vith the thildren at story time as well as indi)ars.
The three permanent EY prnctition*Lrs continued to covqr sessions with the hp.lp d the
casual member of staff and the administrator when neodcd. The casu31 membor of statt let

u£ know at Christmas that sho would be rnovlnA to Europc at Easter, so tt wa5 decided that
new part time EY prKtitioner was needed. In April we Jppointed J new meTnber to the
team.
We had two students from the local college ICWA) attcnd one day a week for 6 month5 th15
year to 8ain voluntary hours for their colleBe course. We hope Ihey decide to coniinuc with
Lhildcar¥ in the futurv.

thelr role5 With our continuing suppon from the school academy. Meetings were

The treasurees role is undertaken as part of the administrative work and presented io

The bank account balan￿5 at end of August 2024 were £20,(￿.99 and £4.287.57.
Children numbers were Aood this year with 20 childrcn on the role in the September 2023
term, with 11 x 2-year-olds Jnd 9 x 34-year-old5. Fees of f 4.50 an hour for fep. payinR
children remalned in place for tho year but it was declded by the committee to Increase it In
September ?024 to £5.50 Jn hour. A8Jin thts was still low compared to funded thildreh and
to vther provider5 in the area. Nurnber5 temporarily dètt(•a41•.d in (ktobéf With children
moving away but started to risc again In January to 20. Then at Easter numbers increased to
23.
Costs for it)suranc• hav• incr•a.%•d this year and we have an￿her member of staff on ihe
pension scheme. Fortunately, the funding rate Increased and rnore childrèn .4tAyed ovér the

Our pro-school ts run by a management committee rnade up of pJreni volunteer5. Thks15
xnvther way in which w& bonefit the communlty as we provide our parents with the
opportunrty to contribute to the development ahd njnning of Ouf pr&school throuRh this
voluntary Wofk. An important aspect of the committee's work is In fundrnising for thp. pre-
school but Fundraisin8 was mainly from online conulbutlons.
