Annual General Meeting

Manager’s Report A.G.M January 2023
This past year has probably been an equally difficult year for the pre-school as the previous few. With the pandemic and the changing legislation that has had to be implemented at times in the setting. This also led to a complete re-write of our policies last year and a constant tweaking of policies.
Parents continue to embrace changes and are happy with the Pre-school.
Last year’s introduction of the revised EYFS led us as a setting to make the decision that at present we would continue to track our children
*firstly to prove which children are on track and which children may need further support.
*secondly to back up our knowledge and use as evidence for Ofsted.
On a positive note we had our Ofsted inspection in December 2022 and received a Good outcome. The inspector was impressed with our development files and the way we track our children.
We only lost one member of staff during the year and this was by mutual agreement due to the staff member underperforming. There is a huge gap within the Childcare sector and any vacancies will be hard to fill.
We still remain higher on numbers of children than other local Pre-schools We have 48 children on role at present and are finding year on year that we have more families accessing and claiming the 30 hour funding.
Our fund raising target was not met this year and we only raised a total of £161 throughout the year. We are lookignat other fundraising ideas for next year.
The children enjoyed their annual outing to Paulton’s Park again this year. This is a well attended event and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
I am a little disappointed with the deficit this year however over the last 3 years we have still evened out to a profit.

Hampshire County Council continue to squeeze Pre-school settings with funding and have not increased our funding for many years despite our costs rising year on year. We are Just fortunate as a setting to have money in the bank as back up.

Chairperson’s Report A.G.M January 2023
As chairperson I have not had a lot to do this year and Teresa does such an amazing job as Manager of the Pre-school.
I am a little disappointed with the turnout to meetings and want to encourage more parents to attend.
I am happy that the Pre-school continues to thrive under Teresa’s leadership and that this may continue for some years to come.
Our main focus for the coming year is to try to recruit some more Committee members.
I am happy to remain on the Committee for many years to come.
