Annual General Meeting
Monday 30th January 2023

Everyone who attended were happy with the previous meetings minutes. Lianne and Julie have joined the committee and Julie has received a suitability notification. She will be declared as Chair person on the Annual Return tomorrow.
Manager’s Report A.G.M January 2023
This past year has probably been an equally difficult year for the pre-school as the previous. With the pandemic and the changing legislation that has had to be implemented at times daily in the setting. This also led to a complete re-write of our policies last year and a constant tweaking of our policies.
Parents continue to embrace changes and are happy with the Pre-school.
The introduction of the revised EYFS has bought about it’s own challenges as we no longer need to track children. As a setting we have decided that at present we will continue to do this though, firstly to prove which children are on track and which children may need further support and also to back up our knowledge and use as evidence for Ofsted.
On a positive note the pre-school still remains fully staffed with the same staff team now in place for 3+ years. There is a huge gap within the Childcare sector and any vacancies will be hard to fill.
We still remain higher on numbers of children than other local Pre-schools
We have 44 children on role at present however a few of our children are part time so we seem to have quite a bit of space but this is set to fill from Easter.
Our fund raising target was exceeded this year and we have raised £958.75 throughout the year. This was helped with our first Large scale event of Christmas in Eastleigh.
The children missed out on their annual outing again in June however we are hopeful it will resume again this year.
I am a little disappointed with the deficit this year however over last year and this year this has still evened out to a profit.

Hampshire County Council continue to squeeze Pre-school settings with funding and have not increased our funding for many years despite our costs rising year on year. We are Just fortunate as a setting to have money in the bank as back up.

Chairperson’s Report A.G.M January 2023
As chairperson I have not had a lot to do this year and I am a little disappointed with the turnout to meetings.
I am happy that the Pre-school continues to thrive under Teresa’s leadership.
Our main focus for the coming year is to try to recruit some more Committee members.
I am happy to remain on the Committee for many years to come.
