Annual General Meeting
Monday 24th January 2022
Present – Kiera Trivett, Jenson Trivett, Tara French, Lianne Swift, Julie Coltart, Teresa Ball and Niki Ward
Everyone who attended were happy with the previous meetings minutes. Lianne and Julie have joined the committee. Therefore, as a committee we now stand at seven members.
Amy had previously informed Teresa that she will be stepping down from the committee. Niki is resigning as chairperson due to several commitments including an increase in her work hours, but is happy to stay as a committee member. Julie put herself forward for the position of chairperson which Niki and Teresa first and seconded. Niki has given Teresa the Chairperson folder which Teresa will go through to remove archive paperwork to keep at the pre-school. The last committee meeting's minutes and a copy of these AGM minutes will be added by Teresa.
Manager’s Report A.G.M January 2022
This past year has probably been the most difficult yet for the pre-school. With the pandemic and the changing legislation that has had to be implemented at times daily in the setting. This has also led to a complete re-write of our policies.
Parent’s have embraced any changes well and several that we have implemented will be here to stay.
The introduction of the revised EYFS has bought about it’s own challenges as we no longer need to track children. As a setting we have decided that at present we will continue to do this though, firstly to prove which children are on track and which children may need further support and also to back up our knowledge and use as evidence for Ofsted.
On a positive note the pre-school still remains fully staffed with the same staff team now in place for 3+ years. There is a huge gap within the Childcare sector
and many settings are finding recruitment extremely difficult. I feel we have done well to maintain the staff team and for them all to be happy and committed to the future of the pre-school.

We are slightly better placed than this time last year with children as we currently have 39 on roll with enquirers all the time.
Our fund raising was limited during the last year due to the pandemic however we still managed to raise £142.10 throughout the whole year.
The children missed out on their annual outing again in June however we are hopeful it will resume again this year.

Chairperson's Report 2022
Another year has passed us by and we are still seeing success at Cherbourg's Little Stars. The pre-school is still fully staffed, and the team all appear dedicated, happy and content in their roles. There is still a good subscription of attendees, including siblings from previous children and new families.
I am stepping down as chairperson at this year’s AGM. Both of my children attended Little Stars which helped develop them ready for school and as people. I am grateful to Teresa and the rest of the team for expertly preparing them.
I have increased my working hours and commitments now, so I am unable to dedicate attending every meeting and the paperwork that accompanies the chairperson role. I also believe it would be beneficial for a parent or relative of a child that attends the pre-school to be chair. I would still like to be on the committee though.
I did try on several occasions to engage and recruit new committee members, but this didn't happen even though both Teresa and myself highlighted the importance of a parents involvement in their children's early years childcare.

I know Ofsted will be due this year at Little Stars and I wish them nothing but the best for their inspection. I anticipate that Little Stars will accomplish this with excellence and their usual warmth.
Next year’s AGM will be held on Monday 23rd January 2023 at 2pm.
The next pre-school committee meeting will be held on Monday 9th May 2022 at 2pm.
