|Summary of the main<br>activities in relation to those<br>purposes for the public<br>benefit, in particular, the<br>activities, projects or<br>services identified in the<br>accounts.|Para 1.17 and<br>1.19|The main activities undertaken by the PFA<br>for the period were:<br>Christmas Fair - This has become an<br>annual event hosted by the PFA which is<br>open to the whole school community and<br>the general public. Small local businesses<br>have stalls at the event to advertise and<br>sell their products.<br>The Coffee Box – The PFA run a regular<br>morning a week of selling coffee and other<br>hot drinks from the horse box. The Coffee<br>Box has also hosted other events this year.<br>Various Sports Days selling cakes and<br>drinks. End of Half Term treat sales selling<br>treats such as hot chocolate, lollies and<br>candy floss at the end of each half term<br>and also Arts Week – selling drinks and<br>snacks to parents attending the Arts Week<br>events.<br>The Coffee Box has been very well<br>received and helps keep the PFA visible at<br>the Schools.<br>School Disco – The school disco is now a<br>staple event on the PFA events calendar. It<br>remains a highly popular event each year.<br>100 Club – Although the number of<br>participants fluctuates through the year, the|



|||100 club is still a popular and profitable<br>venture.<br>Uniform Shop – The PFA runs the<br>secondhand uniform shop which sells good<br>condition secondhand uniform. Parents<br>donate uniform and the profits made on<br>sales go directly to the PFA to generate<br>funds. The shop provides an invaluable<br>service to parents. This uniform shop<br>turnover has been impacted slightly due to<br>the change in compulsory uniform from the<br>school.<br>Wreath Making Workshop – Members<br>spend an evening with a florist learning the<br>skill of wreath making. This has proved a<br>very popular and profitable evening.<br>Quiz Night – A new event for this financial<br>year which was well received and made a<br>small profit.|

## **Achievements and Performance** 

SORP reference This year the PFA made a surplus from our activities after costs of £15,879, which is on 

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|par with previous years.<br>As in previous years much of this surplus is<br>made up from our fundamental recurring<br>activities of the Christmas Fair, School<br>Uniform shop, 100 Club and the combined<br>events with the Coffee Box.<br>You will note the continued success of the<br>Christmas Fair, where both the income and<br>expenses have increased resulting in a<br>profit amount which was similar to previous<br>years.<br>The School Uniform shop initiative is still a<br>great source of income for the PFA, and<br>income has slightly dipped from previous<br>years, which may coincide with compulsory<br>change in some uniform items from<br>September 2024.<br>A new Quiz night was added to the PFA<br>events agenda for this year and was a<br>successful evening which turned a small<br>profit.<br>The Coffee Box activities continue to be a<br>great success again with a profit of £1,746.<br>The surpluses within this category are<br>made up of the new end of term PFA hot<br>chocolate and treat sales, our attendance<br>at a number of Sporting events, the Arts<br>Week appearance and not to mention the<br>regular opening of the Coffee Box for<br>morning coffee.<br>Both these events and others like them<br>during the year are great achievements for<br>the PFA in terms of meeting our objectives<br>of encouraging a relationship between<br>Ashford School and the wider community<br>as well as raising funds to enhance the<br>development of the children attending the<br>School.<br>This year the PFA have made donations to<br>the School directly of £17,083 for<br>equipment and activities.<br>Donations to the School were used for the<br>following items, all of which enhance the<br>School experience for the pupils and enrich<br>the activities they partake in:<br><br>Replacement 3D Printers x 3<br><br>Special Games<br><br>Outdoor musical equipment<br><br>Grass Outdoor Sofa<br><br>Replacement Outdoor resources|

## **Financial Review**

The value remains in line with<br>last year and we still have funds to be put<br>towards the refurbishment of an area of the<br>School to be used as a PFA hub / new<br>School Uniform shop. Funds carried<br>forward are to ensure that the PFA has<br>enough working capital to fund future<br>fundraising and to ensure the long-term<br>viability of the PFA.
