OBJECTIVES AND ACtivmES Objecli¥e5 and aims The objectives for which the Association 15 established are- To provide educational opportunities for young people. schools and cornmunity groups in the London Borough of Hillingdon and the surrounding area5 on the narrowboats: To provide or assist in the provision of facilities to inhabitants of the London Borough of Hillingdon and elsewhere so that their condition5 of life may be improved. ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE HNA ha5 continued to irffer affordable narrowboaring to youth & comrnunity groups within the borough and surrounding areas. We held four trainin8 courses. giving thirty individuals an opportunity to obtain their Certificate in Community Boat Management IC8BMI or Boat Handling iertificates. This has given us a larger pwl of steerer5, allowing us to provide more midweek trips during the sumrner Months, mainly to groups of elderly and disadvantaged people. We hold volunteer day5, weekly on a Tuesday and on the first Sunday of each month. People help with various jobs. such as painting and other maintenance of our boats. woodwork. cleaning aTrJ other tasks around our fleet. premises and the canalside area we have adopted. We have hosted groups of ywn8 offenders who have helped paint our local lock furniture and fencing and perform other maintenance tasks a5 Part of their community service pro8rarnmÈ. FINANCIAL REVIEW The Association's statement of financial artiwties sh[ed a defficit of £27.065 12020= surplus of £22,6591. As at 31 March 2021 the unrestricted funds stocwj at £66.226 12020= £85,760) and the restricted funds stood at E5.97512020.. £5,795). FUTURE PLANS We are working to expand our client base both by word af mouth and by contarting more special needs 8roups via the local ccwjncil. We plan to offer narrowboat expersences to families with a disabled member to give them short breaks enjoying the waterways. We are working with the Xeroderma Pigment95um sooety to adapt one of our boats to be suitable for"sufferers with this photosensitivty disorder.
