The band’s activities have gradually increased back to normal levels since the end of COVID-19 restrictions. 

We have performed several concerts and competitions including a 2[nd] place at the North of England Championship resulting in qualification for and subsequent performance at the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The band’s first appearance at the finals since 1987. 

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** 

We have recruited several new volunteer members and started our community café up properly this year, which has resulted in increased turnover. 

We are selling high quality, nutritious meals, 4 days per week at affordable prices and created a welcome and warm, safe meeting place for the local community. 

We have begun renting out space in the building for one off events

## Achievements and performance 

We managed to replace a few more instruments using some reserves and taking advantage of higher than normal part exchange prices. 

We have managed to recruit more volunteers from the local community to help us with his venture and have provided training for all in Health & Hygiene. 

We have performed several concerts and competitions including a 3[rd] place at the North of England Championships. 

We performed a run of the stage version of Brassed Off at the Gala Theatre in Durham. 

We performed a one-off festival appearance with the Poet Laureate Simon Armitage and his band LYR which won an award for Performance of the Year. 

The band performed at the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The band’s first appearance at the finals since 1987. 

We rose to number 35 in the world rankings

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above " charity ( the Trust") for the year ended 31/03/2023. 

**Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act " 2011 ("the Act ). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
