Chasewell Playgroup is managed by a team of volunteers, made up of staff members and parents. We are a childcare provider caring for children from 2 to 4 years old, ensuring to meet the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements at all times. The Playgroup is based at Chasewell Community Centre, Banbury, which provides a large indoor space and a small garden area for the children to learn in.
Our aim is to enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide for the needs of their children through community groups.
Chasewell has a Manager and Deputy Manager on site overseeing the day to day running. They work directly with the children with the assistance of 5 other staff members. The setting is open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 1.00pm term time only.
The committee aim to meet every term to discuss all aspects of the setting, including staffing, finances, fundraising and safeguarding as the main. An AGM is held annually. All parents are invited to the committee meetings and the AGM. We endeavour to encourage parental participation and invite them to join the committee. We find that most parents come along to meetings but do not want to commit to anything further. Committee members may stay involved for short periods of time. We advertise the importance of parental support with posters. Parents are also informed of committee meetings in advance. We are always looking at new ways of encouraging new committee members.
