CHAIR'S REPORT FOR THE AGM
covering period 01/09/2023 to 31/08/2024
Welcome to the Bonby Pre-school Annual General Meeting covering the period from 1st September 2023 to the 31st of August 2024 My name is Pauline Lyon, and I am the current nominated Chairperson for Bonby Pre-school. The Committee welcomed Sarah Barnes as Treasurer this year and thank James Dixon for his time in this role.
On 9[th] January 2024 the preschool underwent an Ofsted Inspection. I am very pleased to report that the school were awarded a ‘Good’ standard. This is testament to the hard work of Hayley, the preschool manager and her team.
The children continue to enjoy the use of ‘Muddy Park’ this year, learning how to grow produce, learn and take risks through play and enjoying spending time in the outdoors. We have been developing the land with more climbing equipment. We wish to thank Happy Days Farming for allowing the Preschool to continue using the land.
This year the preschool had a good number of children enrolled, which has resulted in a increased level of financial stability than the previous year.
The children, preschool team and Committee members have had an eventfullear, taking part in several activities to support the early years education.
-
October 2023 – World mental health day – wear bright colours for pre-school. Walk around the village and country side, to support mental health. Key person/parents evening.
-
November 2023- Children made Remembrance Day poppies and had a walk to put them on the cenotaph in the village. They also dressed up for children in need.
-
December 2023 –Teddy tombola stall was held at the Worlaby Dickensian Christmas market. Christmas craft, story and rhyme session for families to join. Pre-school Christmas trip to Elsham park, with santa visit and sponsored Christmas walk for fundraising. Christmas party.
-
January 2024 – Fundraising – new year raffle.
-
July 2024 – Voting opened for co-op community championships fundraising.
I would like to close by saying a big thankyou to the staff of the Preschool for all their hard work, flexibility and commitment, as well as all the committee members for giving their time to support the Pre-School.
