At Mere Preschool Nursery we aim to enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age, by offering appropriate play, education and care facilities. In addition, we also encourage parents to understand and provide for the needs of their children.

Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts:

Mere Preschool Nursery is an Ofsted registered pre-school, that provides education to local preschool children through fun and creative play. We are situated within the main site of Mere School, where most of our children progress to. Our relationship with the school is close and we facilitate a taster session, to enable a smooth transition for our children and parents to progress into primary school.

We hold events for the community to attend at key points throughout the year, such as the Christmas Nativity, Summer Fete.

Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society.

We were able to provide 32 placements throughout much of the period, to local children whilst maintaining a high ratio of fully qualified, caring staff, who continued to provide an excellent education in a safe and caring environment and throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Financial Review

Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period.

At the end of the period the charity had a cash surplus of £1,723.00. There isn’t any reserve account with any holding reserves. Additionally, there are no Endowments or Investments held. There are no liabilities immediately due or any loan, hire purchase or other leasing arrangements due. The Charity has no causes for concern.
