started school year in September
with only 13children.
Due
to the on going Coronavirus,
playgroup
followed
all their previous
safety measures
that had been put in place. The children spent most
ofthe time outside
playing as the weather was so good which they| |---|---|---| |||enjoyed. Two members
ofstaff renewed their Designated
Person| |||Safeguarding
Level 3training
done remotely
via teams. As weather got| |||colder the children
started working
on crafts inside relating to Bonfire| |||Night and Remembrance.
In December the children
worked on making| |||Christmas
cards and decorations
for the elderly residents
ofa nearby| |||housing
complex. Children also decorated a Christmas
Tree which was| |||entered
into the local Christmas
Tree Festival, naming
the tree The| |||Brightest Star which was dedicated ioa former employee.
Christmas| |||presents
were purchased
from fund raising'and
a Christmas
party was| |||held on the last Thursday
afternoon session with each child receiving a| |||present from Father Christmas
and entertainment
by Timmy ihe Elf| |||which was enjoyed
by all. Government
shopping
vouchers were applied| |||for printed
out and given out to 2 year funded,
extra premium 3year| |||olds and other families thai need help.| |||The new term started
in January
with more children
mostly two year| |||olds who were funded
bringing
numbers
up to 29 children. The French| |||doors were kept open with regular hand washing
by staff and children.| |||Staff continued
to wear masks. A different craft each week relating to| |||the season covering Chinese
New Year and Friendship
Week. Bird| |||feeders and simple
bird watch laminated
charts was made which| |||encouraged
the children to use their senses, mathematical
skills,| |||knowledge
and
understanding
ofthe world. Mothering
Sunday gifts| |||were made and an Easter Egg hunt was held before breaking
up. The| |||children
all enjoyed looking and finding the chocolate eggs to take
home.| |||Our manager
had been working
with the area SEND team to obtain an| |||EHCP for one of our children
and after months ofhard work, at the end| |||of February the playgroup
were informed
that the child had a EHCP in| |||place. They also had a place at a local special school from September
2022.| |||As weather was so nice Summer term was spent outdoors as much as| |||possible. Playgroup
requested
all children to have sun cream applied| |||and to wear sunhats.
Children
planted
strawberries
and edibl@flowers| |||in outdoor planters
which they took turns to water. The children
leant| |||about healthy eating and exercise. A week was spent exploring
mini| |||beasts outside. To celebrate the Platinum
Jubilee
ihe children
made| |||large crown to go into the Church's
Flower Festival display.
During| |||June and July the children created lots of lovely crafts and made cards| |||and gifts for Father*s Day. Children
enjoyed a Monday
morning session| |||at a staff member's
Beach Hut. On the last day ofterm the playgroup| |||had a fish and chip lunch provided free by the local Fish Bar. Playgroup| |||said goodbye to 9children
who will be starting school in September| |||with a story book and party bag each.| |||This term playgroup
had lots ofvisits from Health workers conducting| |||Two Year Old checks on the funded
children
viith their parents present.| |||More Government
