STRUCTURE GOVERNANCE AND PaANAGEMENT
The Scout Association extsts by authority of a Rcya Charter granted by KirvJ George V in 1912 and
supplernented by furtlw Charters. granted by ￿n9 Gaorge Vl and QU￿ Eltzab81h 11. These
Charters give authority to the Bye Laws of the Scout Assocjalion, bthich are appro￿ by His
aie5tYs Privy CounrAI. The Bye Laws, in tum, authorise the making of rules for the regulation of
the Scout Assodatth's affairs. and thereby give aut1K1￿ for the Rules prfnted in "Pollcy,
Organis*"on and Rules".

GroL4)s, Dlstric( County and Natlonal ￿ganISatiOn.
Tha District Scout Council exsts to promote arKI SLPPOrt scoutwy at all Iwels. Squirrel Scouts ,
Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts. Scouts and Explorer Scouts *ithln Central Notts tJstricL It provides 4
District Trustee Board (rhe Trustees) to manage its affairs in dealing wrlh District property, financial
matters and the app￿nIMent of senior adult leaders for each section.

towards scouting. is available fry trfre by cther community groups arKI attracts Gampers from other
DistriGts and Counties within the UK, and a130 from overseas. The Scout Council lays heavy
empha8i8 on leader trawling and maintains a fund to sup￿% attendance at Overs￿ jamborees and

Financial support and encouragement in the fom) of 'seed money is al80 made available to promote

péople & Gftjups l Unts from all over the Distric* tsk]'rYJ part in many fUr￿filled activitses & athentures,
expenanciry new things and ultimately le￿ing skAls for lffe.

year Started with the 5th Squirrel Drey in District opening at 3rd WoooYhorp8, Squeaver weekend
(an activlty day for the Squrrels & a sleepover for the Beavars), folltrèHJ by beiry back in Southwell
for our annual St George's Day Parade. whwe over 6SO Scouts & Guides came t<>3eth?r to celebrate
and renew ti￿•r prrxnises. In May a numter of groups & urits from Centrdl Notts Jolned over 2,(XXI
other Scouts from NottiThJhamshire at Newark Shwround for The Bv3 wee￿ and Scouts &
Explorer8 enjoyed a day at Alton Towers.
June the Explorers wne togethér for a Gamp & ￿Qking competitNJn at WaEesby and ts Baavgrs
bimbled around Gedfjng Country Park Whilst rnost sectM)rs were still broken up for summw, around
60 Scouts Meet al Trent Lock for Water Camp and as the new sthool year started Squlrrel8 vlsit8d
Sundown Adventure. Throughout the latter months of 2024, the Cub8 & Scouts took part in their
annual Cydocross & Nwalrt OVA events, the 8eavws Visited The Deep for a sleepover Mth the fishes
and ye¥ ended with the usual fun-packed Christmas parties
AS we entered the new calendar year {2025), the Clts rambled aroLDJ E￿N￿leY and the annual
Swimming Gala took place for Cubs. Scouts & Explorer5 at Hucknall Leiwre Centre. March l)rought
along BeACub day and first taster sesslons atread of opening the 6th Squirrel Dréy based at 1st
Porchester and re-opening F*oenix Explorers after the Easter break.

After over 6 years in this role, I will be fin￿hIng as of 31 st July 2025, and I would just like to thank
each and every one of you for the help & support over dys timé. I have had a fantastic team around
me over the yoars wauld not have achieved as much as we thd rf it wasny for all their hard
work & dedication to Scoutirrfj in Certrdl Notts. Even though thi8 is nearfylt￿ end for me in this role,

together.
I￿e had the pleasure of working a]ongside a fantastic District Trustee Board again thls year. I want
to say a heartfelt trAnk you to each WKI every onè of you, for your time, your energy. and your
urmaverfng support in helpll￿ keep the Distiict moving forward.
Looking back over the past year, vthat stand$ out most to me is the continL￿d passion and
commitment from our adult volunteers and leaders. Whether you've run a weekty meetlng, planned

Total unrestrfcted receiF*s for the year were £139,517 and total unrestrithd payff￿ts amounted to
£126,289 as shown on page 7 resutting in net rec￿pts of £13,228. Our bank and cash balan￿$ as at
31st March 2025 amounted to £161,655.

RESERVES POLICY
The Trustees iegularly keep under revlew the level of reserves. The Trustees consider the level of
unrestrrcted fvnds of £161,655 to be suffiGient lor the ongoing oper*'on of the Distn"ct.
Included within general funds of £161.655 are designated funds of £151.760.
