Rolvenden Pre-school Trustees. Annual Report (conrfnued) Year ended 31 August 2025 Achievements and performance We began the year with 13 children on roll, 1 leawng and 7 joining us throughout the year, giving us 19 on roll by the end of the year. Of these. 11 moved up lo primary schoK)l in Juty 2025, leaving 8 continuing with us for the next year. We enjoyed dance sessions weekly during the Spring temi, bought some sports equipment for use in the garden, some new books telliry stories to help with emotional regulation and made use of a Makalon membership lo use grant morley from the Ashford Early Years Collaboration. We hosted a P￿k Your Own Pumpkin event in October 2024, raising £168.50. We took part in the Rolvenden Christmas Fayre by hosting Santa's grotto, raising £97.50. In May 2025 we joined fortes with the Rcdvenden Gardening Society to to host an open garden event in the village. rydising £360. We joined the Primary School Reception class nativty play and the￿ summer of temi play, having spent several weeks ￿￿ting the class and allowing tho chikJren to feel really comf¢)rtable with the transition to Primary School. In March 2025 our Deputy Manager ROS￿ left us and Katie was promoted to replace her. We were unable to find an additsonal member of stsff to join the team. leairing us short-staffed for the remaindw of the academic year. We have begun to struggle financially, wth minimum wage increasing signTficantly, government funding rates remaining low and more chiklren elmjible for extended government entiuements. Our hourly fees increased this year and the staff wcKked hard to raise additional funds. The plar)ned move to Tenterden Schools Trugt was not able lo happen due to the Trust having their own difficulties an pulling out of the merger. The pr&school remains EV￿(ar and in demand. bul it is getting harder to rind staff and sufficient funding to remain wable. Financial revlew Unlike last yeaws considerable drop to reserves, this year has seen the steady state retum, wth reseNes increased by a little under £3.￿0. Wilh such a small enterprise as this, comparatively small variations to the figures can resutt in significant percentile changes. Taking a longer temi viewpoint. the 2015 accounts showed final reseNes of £15.8CK); 2020 showed £21,300", and 2025 shows £35,600. Over the last few years, official infiÈtitin figures have been very changeable, but the charity accounts show a smoothed increase to reserves of 7% year on year. In the Current climate. there are not many enterpris8S Out there for which the controllers could display such figures.
