Overview
The financial year 2024 has been one of steady progress and prudent financial
management for Alrewas Stepping Stones Preschool Play and Learn. Despite ongoing
economic challenges, the charity has maintaiiied a strong financial position, ensuring
that our resources continue to be used effectively to advance our charitable objectives.
Income
Total income for the year amounted to £130,608.01 (2023: £98,723.69), representing a
32.2 % increase year on year.
Income was derived from the following main sources:
Donations and fundraising: £305.00
Grants and trust income: £102,666.17
Trading and events: £22,904.90
Other income (including investments and interest): £4,731.94
We are especially grateful to our parents and local supporters for their continued
support during our fundraising activities.
Expenditure
Total expenditure for the year was £110,216.46 (2023: £103,106.58), directed primarily
toward charitable activities and essential operational costs.
Key expenditure areas included:
Staff and volunteer costs: £92,198.78
Administrative and governance costs: £18,017.68
The charity continues to ensure that expenditure remains tightly controlled, with all
costs regularly reviewed by the Trustees.
Reserves and Financial Position
At year-end, total funds stood at £52,219.14. comprising:

The Trustees maintain a reserves policy aimed at holding sufficient funds to cover Seeppl•ig Stone•
8pproximately 3-6 Inonths of core expenditure. Current reserves are working towards
this target, ensuring stability aiid coiitiiiuily ifi service delivery.
Outlook
Looking ahead to 2025. the charity remains committed to diversifying its income
streanis and strengtliening Its long-terin sustciinability. The Trustees and Finance
Committee will continue to monitor financial performance closelyto ensure resources
are maxiniized for cliaritable impact.
