AUDITORS NOTES
As usual Francis Baily PTA have worked incredibly hard to raise funds for the school alongside families and local businesses. Some fantastic amounts were raised in the first 2 terms of the year thanks to the collaboration with Kennet School PTA for another Fireworks Night, the Christmas Fayre and the STEM fair. Fortunately the success of these events mitigated the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent school closures. Donations to the school were possible allowing the purchase of a new screen for the school hall, the annual Christmas panto and the very well received Planetarium visit. Incredibly, despite the truncation of the school year, the PTA made fundraising profits of £18,915. This is only £3,066 less than the previous school year despite the cancellation of many regular events - quite an achievement!
Cost control remains good however card processing fees must be reconciled going forward and consideration given by the Committee to whether they want to prepare receipts and payments accounts or accruals accounts for future years. The bank balance has increased by nearly £10,000 which will hopefully provide the school with a good start to the 2020/21 academic year.
