The trustees of the charity, present thelr report wlth financlal statements of the charity for the year ended
31 March 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities:
statement of Recommended Practice applicable to Gharities preparing their accounts in accordance with
the Financial Reporting Standard applicable In the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102) (effective 1
January 2019).
LEGAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION.
STATUS
The Grove at Bedminster Down is a registered charity governed by its ConstitutSon - Charity number

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES OF THE CHARITY
Objedives..
The aim of the Club is to help and educate young people through their leisure time activities so to develop
their physi¢al, mental and spiritual ¢apacilies that they grow to full maturity as individuals and members of
society and that their conditions of life may be improved.
Actlvltles..
The Club continues to work towards achieving Its objectives by helping children and young people
belween the ages of 8-19 years of age through providing open a¢¢ess evening youth club sessions.
Durlng the past financlal year, The Grove at Bedminster Down has delivered 176 nlghtly sesslons of
open access youth work, engaging a total of 3,163 contacts with children and young people. These youth
club sessions are fun, engaging and young people led. The Club Programme is designed to address a
range of physical, educatlonal, lifestyle, health and other actlvitles enabling members to develop their
skllls. awareness, and capabilities to help them partlclpate as healthy, independent, mature and
responsible IndSvlduals.
The Club Is fully Incluslve and all adult staff and volunteers are DBS Enhanced checked. The Grove at
Bedminster Down is a well-estsblished, respected and trusted deliverer of youth services that works in
Partnership to maximise the benefrts for all parties and the wider community.

PUBLIC BENEFIT
We have referred to the guidance ¢ontalned In the Charity Commlsslon's general guidance on public
benefit when reviewing our object and in planning our future actlvlties.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The total incoming funds were £35,405.13. The truste8s are grateful for the kind donations and grants
from our funders and those who support our work durSng the past year. You wlll see from these Accounts
there has been a subsequent increase in our Expenditure to £38,015.52 resulting In a small annual
operatlng deficit of (£2,610.39.) This defidt has been underwritten from th8 Clubs Reserves.
The accounts comply with the current statutory requirements, the charity's goveming document and the
requirements of the Statement of Recommended Pra¢tice for Charities (SORP) appllcable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Flnanclal Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland (FRS102> (effective l January 2019).
RESERVES POLICY
The trustees have a reserve policy equivalent to three months cost. The level of unrestricted reserve
funding is therefore equivalent to an estimated three months of expendlture which for financial year 2024-
25 is estlmated lo be in the reglon of £12,000. This is regularly monltored during the financial year.
FUTURE PLANS
The Club contlnues to develop into a charity that can respond to the needs of th8 chlldren, young people
and the wider communty of Bedmlnster Down and surroundlng communities, targeting areas of
disadvanlage and deprivation.
Our aim is to work collaboratively and in partnership with the local ¢xJmmunily to create opportunilies,
affect change and support members to fulfil their potential. Through the promotlon of an inclusive ¢lub
based programme, based around health and wellbeing actlvltles that focus on key areas of need, our
objectlve is to deliver high quality support with passion and enthusiasm whilst remaining young people
led and grounded in the community.
We Intend to support our club members to participate in more events both wlthln and outside of the City
thus enriching their personal experlences and opportunitles.
We are also looking to increase the adult volunteers to help further develop our Club programme, and
add to our Club trustees.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document.
The organisation is a registered charity (1026303) that operates In accordance with its Memorandum &
Articles of Association last amended 7 April 2004.

Recruitment and appointment of new trustees during the year.
There were no new trustees appointed during this financial year. It is the charity trustees desire to appoint
further trustees as and when suitable individuals make themselves known to the charity.
Organisational structure
The charity operates solely through meetings ofthe Management Committee, which includes the charity
trustees. All decisions are collectively taken by the Management Committee. Responsibility for financial
management is delegated to thè Treasurer who draws on th8 SUPPOrt of other Management Committee
members as necessary. ActivitSes and Managemenl Committee meetings of the charity are overseen by
the Chalr. Durlng the year formal meetlngs of the trustees were held and Minutes recorded.
Management Committee Remuneration from the Charity.
We confirm that no trustee received any remuneration from the Charity and were not reimbursed for any
expenses forenacting of theirtrustee duties during the year from the Charities monies.

During the financial yéar thèré have be8n 6 part time employees of the ch8rity.
No employee received emoluments in excess of £60.000.
Affiliations & Memberships
The Grove at Bedmlnster Down are affillated members of Young Bristol, UK Youth, National Youth
Agency and National Association of Boys & Girls Clubs. All are Independent Charities in their own right.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE MANAGEMENT
COMMITTEE OF THE GROVE AT BEDMINSTER DOWN ("THE
CHARITY").
I report on the accounts of the Charlty known has The Grove at Bedminster Down, an Independent
Charity Governed by English Law and registered wlth the Charity Commission by Charlty number
1026303 for the year ended 31$1 March 2024.
Respective responsibilities of Management Committee & Examiner.
The Management Commlltee shall have cause to keep full and accurate Financial Records and Accounts
of all financial transactions relating to monles belonging to the Charity and such Accounts shall be
independently examined and presented at the Clubs Annual General Meeting.
As a Management Committee you are responsible for the preparation ofthe Accounts,- I report in respect
of my examination of your charity's accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011
C'the 2011 Act"). In carrying out my examination I have followed the Dir8Ctions given by the Charity
Commisslon under section 145(5} (b) of the 2001 Act.
Basis of independent examiners report.
My examinatlon was carried out In accordance with the general directlons given by the Charity
Commissioners. An examinatlon includes a review of thè accounting records kept by the Charity and a
comparison of the accounts presented with thosè records. It also includes consideration ofany unusual
items or disclosures In the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as a Management Committee
concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do nol provide all the evidence that would be
required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the
accounts.
Independent Examiners Statement.
In Gonnection wlth my examination, no matter has come to my attention whlch gives me reasonable
cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep accountlng records in accordance
wlth section 41 of the Acl and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to
comply with the accountlng requirements of the Act have not been met. or to which, in my opinion,
attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts be reached.

ACCOUNTING DEFINITIONS
Income
All income is recognised in Ihe Statement of Financlal Actlvltles once the charity has entitlement to the
fvnds.
Expenditure
Liabililies are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing
the Gharity to that expenditure. Expenditure is accounted foron an accruals basis and has been classified
under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where cost cannot be directly attributed to
particular headings they have been allocated to aGtivities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
Taxatlon
The charity is exempl from corporation tax on its charitable actlvlties.
Funds
RESTRICTED FUNDS - When applicable Restricted income funds are to be used In accordance with
specific restrictions imposed by the donor and any such funds will be shown separately in the accounts.
UNRESTRICTED FUNDS - Unrestricted income funds comprlse of those funds which the trustees are
free to use for any purpose in the furtherance of the charitable objectivès.
