MUSCLIFF COMMUNITY PRE-SCHOOL ANNUAL GENERAL MEEfiNG 1ST OCTOBER 2024 Chairperson Report Good evenlng everyone and thank you all for coming along this evening. My name is 8ev King and l am the current ChaIrper￿n for the committee of Trustees of the Preschool. My own involvement wlth the Preschool stsrted when my grand dau8hter now 12 years old attended. followed by Tny two other grandthildren- the last who is now 6. Without exception they all had a wonderful time here thanks to the caringand skilfvl team, and as I wa5 on drop off or pick up duty regularly. I soon felt a part of the Preschool family. tt has always had a wam? friendly feel to It. and as a grandparent, a Somewhat emotional one, I do remember thinking how nice it would have been to enrol my own children here! Flrst a bit about our Preschool for those of you who ha￿ re￿ntlY joined us: ft has been in exlstence since 1990. fornierly as Muscliff Communlty Playgrou we thanged our name just recently and it has always provided a first class early learning centre for our local thildren who are just setting out on their life journey. The lovely setting however Is just incldentsl to its main asset- our caring staff, currently led by Phoebe Carter, our brilliant Manager. who is ably asSlSted by her arnazing team, some of whom have been with the preschool for severdl ars, and some who have recently joined us. In March this year, the Preschool was rdtsd OUT¥fANDING after the Ofsted inspection. Although we always knew it, this official ￿cognItion is testament to the dedication. caring and skill of the Preschool team. It was a brilliant and well deserved outcome. Supporting the staff is our amazing volunteer Commlttee of Trustees, most of whorn are here this evening, who work together in the background with decision makin& fundraising and general support to Phoebe and the team here today. The Trustees are mainly made up of Paren￿ fonner and current, former staff & grandparents of the Pre School.

I would like to thank you all for your support. giving your free time to the Preschool which is muth appreciated. A big thank you too to our other helpers. not on the committee - we do rely heavily on them particularfy with re8ard to our main fundraising events- the Christmas & Easter Fayre5. Your support Is greatly appreciated. You may be aware that we are a Registered Charity. and a large part of the Committee work is fundraising to ensure that our children have everything they need for their education and play. In the current economic climate, this is becoming more and more essential. We have always relied on the local communlty, including the business community. to help us -generally with a donation of raffle prizes which are held at our fundrdising events. and we are very grateful to them. Unfortunatety to secure help in thls way Is becoming more and more difficult. and if anyone has a business contact through their family, friends or employment network who would be willing to offer a small donatlon In the way of a small gift or voucher, that would be great. Please spread the word. We are always in need of raffle prizes at our events, and a Ilst of our supporters is always put up at the relevant function. as a thank you Ilt's also useful advertising!) Your support In attending our events is much appreciated. As a final note, as I have already mentioned. our Preschool is a real team effort between the stsff, Committee and helper5. and eath Is crucial to it's continuing success and eben survlval. To thls end l am sending out a plea to our parents to join us on the tomrnlttee as a Trustee. Apart from fulfilling the requirments of the Charity Commlssion with regard to our numbers, your invol¥ement.ideas and energy will ensure that going forward our Preschool will continue to thrive. You are neededl Please come and have a chat with me or one of our Tnkstees after the meeting. Whatever time you can give us- a little or more is so appreciated and it is also very rewarding. Treasurers Speech AGM 202312024 please find a copyof the accounts forthe financialyear 6 April 2023 to 5 April 2024 enclosed. All figures have been checked and verified by an independent qualified accountant. As ofApril 2024the balance of our current accountswas £18901.33 and the deposit account was £20701.80. This year has seen wages increase again asthe government continues to raisethe national livingwage. We areforced to increase salaries in line with government guidelines. Of course this has put extra strain on oui finances. In addition as salaries rise so do expenses such as pension contributions and National insurance contribLrtions. all of which put extra pressure on our financial resources. As everthe stsff and committee are determined to keep our group alive and have done an amazingjob with fund raisingonce again this year. Proceeds ofwhich havegone towards investing in new outside storage for the children's toys. This came at great cost and wouldn't have been possible without the huge fund raising efft)rts of all involved. We are always lookingforways to make the group more financially efficient. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. We are a registered charity and therefore a nonprofit making organisation. which means every penny goes back into the group to fund your Child's experience and learning. To this end prompt payment of accounts is really appreciated. the group offers online banking to any parents who would like to make direct payments. Please ask for more details and be sure to use the invoice number as the reference. Many thanks for your support. Debbie Coombes. Bookkeeper.
