Chairman’s Report 2023/24
Another year has gone by and it has been a very successful year for Taw U3A with many new members and new Groups being started. We had 500 members during the year making us the largest U3A in North Devon, no mean achievement. My grateful thanks to Alison and Jackie for looking after new members and making them feel welcome to Taw U3A.
A very successful Celebration afternoon Tea was held at the Barnstaple Hotel to say thank you to the membership..
The Annual Trip was to South Devon where we enjoyed a trip on the train to Kingswear followed by a boat trip to Totnes. Thank you to Lynden and Sue for organising this..
The Trustees have been able to hold the Annual Membership Fee to £12 through good housekeeping by our Treasurer. The Trustees are grateful for the support they have received from the members.
A Successful holiday was organised to North Wales including day trips around North Wales and Chester. Again thank you to Lynden and Sue for organising this..
I am Grateful to Valerie for all her work will the Website and the Newsletter which has a new layout and to Veronica for her excellent work as Membership Secretary.
This year we have had a speaker or entertainment at every other Coffee Morning and thank you to our Speaker Secretary Jill for organising these.
We now have a Facebook Page managed by Paul Pate but we are not into Twitter or Tick Tok. We have also extended the Hours when Trustees are available to the Membership To Monday to Saturday 10.00am to 7.00pm.
Finally my grateful thanks to my fellow Trustees for their support during the year and special thanks to Carole for her time as Secretary and to John for looking after Groups as Group Co-ordinator.
The Biggest thanks must go to you the Members for supporting Taw U3A and making my job that much easier. THANK YOU.
