The Trustees present their annual report, and the indeFendenly examined financial statements of the charity
for the year ended 31 March 2026. The Trustees have 8dopted the provisions of the Statement of
Recornmended Practice ISORP)"Ac¢ounbng and Reporbng by Chanlies" IFRS 102) in preparing the annual
rep)rt and fina￿al statements
The financial statements have beer7 prepared in accordan(% with the ￿cOuntIng polietes set out in note 1 to
the financial statements and compty with the tharity's goveming document, the Chariknes Aet 2011 and
Accounting and Re￿r￿n9 by Charittes.. Statement of Recommended Pra¢b"ce applicable to chanties preparing
their accounts in accordance wth the Financial Reports"ng Stsndard applKable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland IFRS 102}.

Public benefft
The Trustees have paid due regard to the Chanty Commiwon's guRJance on publi¢ benefft in deciding
which activities the Tnjst should undertake.
The Trustworks wrth commLFnty partners and othervoluntary organisation8 to deliver an engaging programme
of events for a h)cal audience through 3 variety of media. It also engages audiences through social media
posts, via rts website and its newsletter. It maintains high standards of collect￿nS care and conservalion,
preserving Daconjm's heritage for the benefft of rts communtbes and fvture generations.
Achievements and rfomianc•
During the penod under review, the Trust conb.nued to work in partnership wrth D8comm Borough Council and
numerous IcKal organi5ations to support ac(tss to heritsge across the borough.
Durtng the year, the Trust carried out extensNe public engagement activrties, including the provision of loan
boxes for schcth, live events and digital exhIbrt￿ns. It also launched a talks programme. SF*aking at four
mee*"ngs of local organisations, and initiated a second print run of its book, 'A Wander through Ovaltine..
which wa8 runner-up for ixst small publK*on of the year in the Alan Ball Local History Awards.
The Trust also undertook a wide range of activities. funded by the Garfield Weston Foundation and the
Association of Independent Museums, lo promote its (x)Ilection of items c4)nnected with the fomer Ovalline
factory at Kings Langley. It alsc received grants from Dacorum Borough Council for refreshing loan boxes for
schools and creating illLbstrated maps of the Borough. and from the Co-op Local Community Fund.
The Trust has maintained rts accreditation as a museum in DacoTum. Throughout the period under review, it
continued lo care lor the collections through effeLbve collectt.ons management and organisational strategy.

Income and endowments for the year to 31 March 2026 was £124.170 {2025 - £141.133}. After total
expenditure of £124.24912025 - £121,568} there was net deficit of £79 {2025- net surplus of £19,565). This
is split betsveen unrestn.cled and restricted fvnds as follows..
Unrestricted Funds
Th6 Trust had a defi¢il in the year of £7912025 - surplus of £19,565) on un￿1n¢t0￿ fvnds. The balance at
the end of the year was £106,575 {2025- £106.6541.
The Trust had a surplus in the year of £nil12025- £nil) on restricted funds. The balan* at the end of the year
was £46,202 {2025 - £46.2021.

Structurn, governance and managgment
The Trust is a company limrted by guarantee, incorF￿8ted in September 1993 and r8gistered as a charity in
September 1993. It is governed by rts athles of associab"on.
The Trustees are recTUrted from volunteers prepared to offer their to the development of the Trusvs
objectives.
None of the Trustees has any bèneficbal interest in the company. Members of the company guarantee to
conlribute £10 in the event of a ￿￿ndIng up. Directors must be rr￿MberS of the company.
The Trust is managed on a day-to4ay basis by a Museum Manager, who is employed under the guKlance
and direction of Ihe Trusfs Board of Directors. Employee salarw are delermined the Board of Directors in
accordance with the Trust Pay Policy.
Regular management meetings are held betsveen the Trust*s and staff to ensure the progress of chanlable
activities and the effective day to day running of the Tfust
There were no transxtions with related parties during the year that required reporbng in these accounts.

The Trustees recognise that there a signrficant input to its ￿ievements from the conlribubon by many
volunteers To quantify this, the Trustees have used, as a basis for its calculation of the accepted valLtation of
personal commitment of their L3bour contribLrt￿n, the fomiulas adopted by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Based
on these formulas. a minimum valuatson for the year would be circa £17,55712025 - £19,9111. Furthermore,
these accounts do not recognise the value of expenses not daimed by Trustees and volunteers, nor of
honoraria waived.
Rlsk Manag•ment
The Twstees have assessed the major nsks to which the Trust is exposed through its risk management
statement and are Satisf￿ that the systems in place mth.gate exposure to those risks as set out below..
The Trust remains reliant on funding from DaThim Borough Council for core actNib'es, although
limited funds are raised from other sour￿. The Trust works with the council so that they continue to
understand their obligations under Ihe Ancient Monuments & A￿haeo1OglCal Areas Act 1979 and
that the Trust exists to support them. The Trust works to ensu￿ that ils obligatsons under the
Service Level Agreement are and support the counol's aim5 and objecbves.

The collection is al risk of burglary and theft. The Trust has ￿k￿de significant improvements to the
security system ensuring that all parts of the museum store are covered, monitored by Secom. This
included the insts1la1￿n of intemal CCTV (2meras.
The Trust is at risk to the failure of its ageing collection rr¢nagenEnt infrastructure. The Trust has
implemented a Cloud￿Sed server to host the collecbon management system to mf(igate this risk
and is seeking fijrther fvnding for further improvements.

la) General Inform*ion and basis of preparation
The Dacorum Henlage Trust Limrted is a company limited by guarantee in England and Wales. In the
event ofthe charity being wound up. the liabilty in reSp￿t of the guarantee is limf(ed lo £10 per member
of the charity. The address of the registered Offi￿ is given in the charity informabon on page 3 of these
ffnancial statements. The nature of the charty's operations and principal activities are to collect and
record the history of the Borough of DaGorum and to interp￿t and display the collection in order to
encourage interest and appreciation of the heritsge of Dacorum.
The chanty constrtutes a public benefft entity as defined by FRS 102. The financial statements have
been prepared in accordan￿ vmh Accounb"ng and Reporb"ng by Charities.. Statement of Recommended
Practice applicable to chanties preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting
Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of IreLand (FRS 1021 issued in October 2020, the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the Unrted Kingdom and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102), the Charities
Act 2011, the Companies Act 2006 and UK Generally A￿epted Practice as rt applies from 1 January
2015.
The charity does not include a cash ffow st*ement on the grounds that it is apptying FRS 102 Section
1A.
The financial statements are prepared on a goFng con￿rn basis urKler the historical cost convention
modffied lo indude ￿rtain items at fair value. The financpl statements are presented in sterling which

Restn¢ted fvnds are funds which are to be used in accordancE wth specific re5trFth"ons imposgd by
donors or which have been raised by the chanty for specrfic purposes. The cost of raising and
administering such funds are charged against the specific fvnd. The aim and use of each restn"¢ted fvnd
is set out in the notes to the financial statements.

All incoming resour￿ are included in the Statement of Financial Actrvtties (SOFA) when th8 charity Ss

Income from trading actsvit￿$ includes income earned from fundraising events and trading activities lo
raise fijnds for the charty. Income is received in excharoe for supptying goods and services in order to
raise fvnds and is recognised vthen entsdement has cccurr&l.
Income from local govemment and other grants are recognised al fair value when the charity has
entidement after any performan* condrtions have been met. it is probable that the income will be
received. and the amount can be measured reliabty. If entrtlement is not me( then these amounts are
deferred.
Other income includes the conversion of endowment ftjnds into income which arises when capital funds
are released to an Income fund from expendable endowments or when a chanty has authority lo adopt
a totsl retum approach to rts permanent endwment fund. It also includes other income such as gains
on disposals of tangible frxed assets.
(dl Expenditure recognition
All expenditure is accountwl for on an ￿Nal$ basis 2nd has been cLgssrfied under headings that
aggregate all costs ￿lated to the category. Expendtture is recognised where there is a legal or
conslrucb've obligab.on to make payments to third parbes, it is probable that the settlement will

Support costs are those that assist the work of the chanty but do not directly represent charitable

Fund-raising costs are those incurred in seeking voluntsry ¢ontn"butions and do not include the costs of
disseminating infomiatjon in surrrf)rt of the charitatAe activities.
