independently examined accounts to The Charity Commission,

The Charity, Friends of Hillesley School (referred to hereafter as FOHS,) is a fundraising charity
based In HiLlesley in Gloucestershir8. It has exlsted for manyyears and its purpose, like so many
PTA'S. is to provide 8Xtracurrlcular activities or resources for their associated School. In this
case. Hillesley C of E VA Primary School. The sort of things these include, (but are not Ilmited to)
are: transport for school trips; a year six leaver's'party, or trip; a new library. a play S8il SO tne
children can play outside in the sun when it's hot; playground refurblshments; laptops; muslc
lessons- the list is always ongoing and evolving.
Cruclally FOHS, exists to support the school in provlding the very best environment to advance
the education of the pupils in the school (such as fundingfor laptops) and wellbeing of the
children and staff (such as trips).
The FOHS structure.
FOHS Is governed by its constitution. No serious incidents have been reported in the perlod.
Trustees of FOHS consists of a chair, secretary and treasurer. Trustees are voted in annuaLly at
the AGM and should not serve longer than a two-year term.

Where does FOHS'S money come from?
The entirety of FOHS'S funds comes from fundr81sing. successful bid writing 8nd donations from
villagers (for such things as raffle prizes).
Durlng the year, fundr8ising has raised a total profit of £12,564. The majority of this was
because of the May biannual ball. A huge fundraising effort supported by all those involved
included ticket sales of nearly 200, 8 raff le, 8 silent auction and a live auction. This resulted in 8
final profit of £8,692. Added to this was a Christmas raffle and Christmas card s8Les, which
raised over £2,100, and a fantastic comedy night raised £710. A couple of discos (Easter and
Christmas} and ice creams sold after school on summer Fridays added to the fundraising
efforts. We were lucky enough to have 8 St8ll at the local district sports selling soft drinks and
snacks.

Donations to the school in the year tot8lled £6,736 and contributed towards:.
Transport costs to the local pool for swimming lesson8
a shed for the infant playground, with a sandpit on one slde and an'outside library, on
the other
Contribution tOW8rd necessary lighting renewals
Ukelele lessons for both inf8nts and juniors
Educational playground equipment
Makeover of the Frlendship Garden and
School outlng costs

The charlty will contlnue to work to raise funds to ensure the school's extr8curricu18r needs are
met as and when they arise. In the new academic year, it is hoped to recruit more parents to
become more involved with the Charity. When appropriate, FOHS takes the commission's
public benefit guidance into account when making decisions.
Flnanclal notes
The closing balance is healthy for a charity of our size, at £14,060. We 8re in communication
with the school considering some educ8tion8l playground equipment.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31/08/2024** . 

- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
