Trustees’ Annual Report

For the year ended 30 June 2025

The charity’s principal objectives are to raise funds to provide grants and donations for the benefit of mainly local charities and individuals.

Our key fundraising event for the year was the Mammoth Car Boot Sale held on August Bank Holiday Monday which raised £23,315 net of costs. We are grateful for permission by the Earl of Pembroke to use the grounds of Wilton House for this event.

Other fundraising activities included marshalling at the “Wilton Wake Ups” which are breakfast car meetings held at Wilton House that raise funds for the Salisbury Hospital’s Stars Appeal and Wilton Rotary’s own charity a net £13,616 was raised in this period.

The May Gala Ball was in aid of the Wilton RDA and Wilton Rotary’s own charity. A net of £11,279 was raised and £8,000 donated to buy a new horse ..Dexter.

Our Christmas fundraising and community activities included taking elderly residents of Wilton to the Coombe Bisset Panto, Santa’s Sleigh tour of Wilton and mulled wine at the Christmas light switch-on in Wilton.

The charity is governed by the Trust Fund Deed dated 2[nd ] August 1993 which states that the Trustees are the following officers of the Rotary Club of Wilton namely:

The officers for the year to 30[th ] June 2025 are detailed on page 1 of the Financial Statements.

The charity operates within the governing framework and constitution of the Rotary Club of Great Britain and Ireland.

The Trustees declare that they have approved the Trustees’ Annual Report and Financial Statement.

Trust Fund Notes

1. Principal Activities

The Trust Fund acts as the financing vehicle for the charitable activities of The Rotary Club of Wilton. The Club is a member of Rotary International, pursuant to a charter dated 3[rd ] January 1979 and is governed by a constitution prescribed by Rotary International.

2. Material Agreements

The Trust Fund was established by a Declaration of Trust dated 2nd August 1993, signed by the President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary of The Rotary Club of Wilton.

3. Registered Charity

The Trust Fund is registered under No 1026117 with the Charity Commission.

4. Accounting Policies

The Financial Statements have been prepared in accordance with the historical cost convention and accordance with applicable accounting standards in the UK.

5. Donations

See separate "Donations" (on pages 8 - 9) for the summary of payments made by the club during the year totaling £40,322.65 (2024 £56,923.82)

A total of £3,000 was donated by Wilton Rotarians to a charity of their choice (subject to

constitutional approval) in our monthly raffle. All nominations, during the year, were registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

6. Lendwithcare

Lendwithcare is an international micro-financing lending scheme operated by Care International (registered charity number 292506).

7. Other Expenses & Sundries

This cost is for high viz jackets and safety equipment for the fund raising events.

8. Contingency Reserve

A contingency reserve of £5,000 has been established to defer any losses incurred by the Club when running future fundraising events.

9. Capital Reserve

A reserve of £5,000 is held for general purposes.

10. Club Subscriptions

Amounts paid in error to the Trust Fund by members and refunded to the correct bank account.

11. Wilton Wake Up Expenses

Expense relates to traffic marshalling for health and safety compliance.

12. Christmas Expenses

Expenses relate to costs of running Christmas community activities such as minibus hire and purchase of mince pies for distribution to care/nursing homes in the community.

13. Bank Interest

Interest earnt during the year from our reserve bank account.

14. Other Donations

Other donation from sources not attributable to specific events such as Just Giving receipts.
