We held Church serwces. prayer meetings and Sunday school twice every Sunday and Bible studies once a week until COVID-19 regulattons forced the thurch to dose on 17th March 2020. In spile of the physical building ng dosed we continued to deliver the servi5 for the benefit of Ihe Hungarian (x)mmunity in the U.IC and indeed woddwtde as oudined in our goveming documents. Online Serrf were broadcast on YouTube from Ihe very first Sunday of l¢xkdown along with interactive Sunday school videos for children aged 4-11. We have instantly gained a large online allenCe. somè of our videos reathing nearly a thousand views. During Ikd0v W kept in touch with the ¢(gregatIOn by regular phone calls. which much needed and appreciated in Ihose uncerlain and frightening times. We used the time and Oprtunty lockdown provided to refurbish the d)urch building to a high stsrKlard as well as introduce new technologies for the hard of hearing (when physical churd) would be able to return) and install the n&Sary 8quiprnent and broadband for regular livestreaming. The church was open to the public &ach and evory Sunday the governmenl auowed to be open. We held our first COVID safe in person service on 5, July. carrying on until 1 November. From 9 November until 29 November the thurch vras once again dosed due to national lock(*). on again, Servi were broadcASt on our YouTube channel. involwng as many people as possible into these pr&-recorded servIs. Reading the Scriptures. playing music, recording greetings to other church members were a lrfeline for adulis and recstsrKJ memory verses and txesenting their craft a joy for children. Fellowship grwps were formed on various online platfonns. Messenger. WhatsApp, Skype and Zoorn were all utilized to connect with people through regular prayer meetings, Bible studies, Ladies meetings and support chat groups. As a result of restric150ns our usual outreach activities. family days, fellowEhip lunches. Nllsiting preachers and special events were off limit. Still. the Hur¥JaTian community felt connected WFth God and wsth each olher as a resuh of the immense effort we made to use the things that were allowed and the techndogy that helped us all to keep in touch. Section D Achievements and performance Summary ol the main achievements of the charity during the year During the fatethl year of 2020 we reached many more people than we Vuld normally do. Our online presence became much more powerful and the church has gained a regular following in London, in the UK and all over the world where Hungarian speakers are eager to listen to the Word of GCKI. We aimed to cater for all ages in acLxxdan their needs and technical abilities. The opportunity for personal visitation all but disappeared but whenever il was allowed and there was a need we were there to visit people, support them in their practiGal needs. encouage and pray with them. While lockdowns were 3 time of restrictions and anxiety for one's own and that of their loved ones health. these lockdowns were as wisely uttlized as wssible for benefit of the church both as a body of people and as a building. The TnJst8es feel Ihat in the very dtfficult year of 2020 with its unexpecled challenges the church and the charity was managed excellently and no human or material resourGes were wasted. Despite the huge investment into refurbishment the church did not have to use their inveslments to pay for expenses.
