Theatre Workshops
Theatre workshops have been at the heart of Yellow House weekly schedule for over 30 years.
These workshops focus on mental health, current affairs and other important topics and issues. Through our work we have found generally young people are not given the space and time or opportunity to discuss these matters or voice their opinions in an atmosphere of trust and safety, free to speak up without fear of ridicule – at Yellow House we strive to change this by providing our young people a safe place to come, to be themselves and to express themselves in a positive way through our theatre workshops, whilst educating the young people on various theatre techniques. Whilst also working alongside participants, guardians and families,

ENVIRON-MENTAL
As part of our initiatives this past year, Yellow House has been working with the young people to become more ‘climate conscious’ as this was a major topic brought up by some of the young people – we decided to work with them to create a project named Environ-mental. The project consisted of creative workshops, seed sowing, outdoor trips and litter picks, with the intentions of creating a cleaner, greener environment within our local area, as well as supporting positive mental health through exercise, creativity and friendship.

CHANGING THE WORLD THROUGH BEAUTY
At Yellow House we continued to strive to change the world through beauty. Rather than scrolling on our phones, watching TV, reading the negative news that surrounds us and can often cloud our everyday life – we want to ‘CHANGE THE WORLD, THROUGH BEAUTY’ by providing our young people a safe space, away from the outside world, a place where they can be themselves, away from the negativity, bullying and the general pressures of society.
Changing the World through beauty, we encourage young people to see what is beautiful right in front of them, create positive peer groups, build long-lasting friendships, have conversations, and see art and the outside world.

IYD – INTERNATIONAL YELLOW DAY 2024
As part of our yearly projects, Yellow House proudly celebrates International Yellow Day on 30th March, coinciding with Van Gogh’s birthday. Participants come together to develop a creative project and response, raising awareness for mental health.
On this day, we encourage everyone to wear something yellow as a symbol of solidarity with those in our community facing mental health challenges. This simple yet powerful gesture fosters understanding and unity, highlighting the importance of supporting one another.
This year we also put on a performance at Local Venue, Doogles Donuts, which also supported Yellow House by selling sunflower donuts, all proceeds went to Yellow House, as well as employing several young people from Yellow House.

Acknowledgments
The Trustees wish to thank all donors, volunteers, and staff for their unwavering support and dedication. Your contributions make Yellow House's work possible. Once again, 2024 - 5 proved to be a challenging year for Yellow House; like many Charities, we are still operating in Post-COVID times and restrictions. We are aware of the current challenging climate for Small Charities, as we have many connections with Charities throughout the UK through Online Seminars and Sessions. However, I am proud to say that, thanks to the tremendous efforts of The Staff, Sessional workers and Trustees throughout the Year, our much-needed services to young people continued and maintained their high standards. So much so that we saw an increase in users and noticed that, due to the current social environment, particularly those with Neurodiversity. Again, to our credit, no young people were refused support from Yellow House. On a more personal basis, we were delighted to welcome back our Founder - - George Mc Kane - - after a long-term serious illness. Great news.
Declaration
On behalf of all Trustees at Yellow House, I am pleased to sign off the 2024 - 25 Annual Report and Financial Accounts. Approved at AGM this day 16[th] January 2026
