Bidborough Primary School PTA Trustee Report for the Year Ending 31 August 2023

The Trustees of the ‘The Church of England Primary School Parent Teacher Association’ (“the PTA”), registered Charity No. 1025911, present their annual report and accounts for the year ending 31 August 2023. The trustees confirm that they comply with the requirement of the Charities Act 2011, the Charities SORP (FRS 102) and the Trust Deed.

Our Aims

The PTA operates under the Constitution dated October 2018 which includes the provision for the appointment of trustees. The aim of the PTA is to advance the education of pupils in the school by:

  1. Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others stakeholders of the school

  2. Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school to advance the education of the pupils

Our Objectve

The PTA aims to:

  1. Raise funds to meet its aims whilst at the same time

  2. Provide opportunities for the children, parents and teachers of the school to come together socially

  3. Build strong relationships within the school and with the wider community

Review of Actvites and Achievements

After 2 years of fundraising, the PTA donated £40,500 towards the schools Multi-Use Games Arena (MUGA) which has been successfully installed over the summer. This is a great achievement for everyone involved (PTA, school and parents). The MUGA will be fantastic asset for the school.

Our Finances

The PTA raised a respectable £24,913.52 which is slightly more than the previous year (£20,442.16) and realised a profit of £15,311.92 (compared to £14,367.13 the previous year).

The PTA also received a £6,250 personal donation (via LocalGiving) towards the development of the Multi-Use Game Area which is to be paid to the school in October 2023. The PTA will be left with a start of year working capital amount of £13,141.88 which is a comfortable position.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees and Members of Bidborough Church of England Primary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Registered Charity No 1025911 for the Year Ending 31 August 2021

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Bidborough Primary School PTA for the year ended 31 August 2021.

Responsibilities and Basis of Report

As the charity trustees of the Bidborough Church of England Primary School PTA you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the Bidborough Church of England Primary School PTA’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent Examiner’s Statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. The accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act; or

  2. The accounts did not accord with those accounting records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
