THE BIDBOROUGH CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER ASSOCITION REGISTERED CHARITY NO. 1025911 REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31 AUGUST 2020

The Trustees of The Bidborough Church of England Primary School PTA (the PTA) Charity present their annual report and accounts for the year ended 31 August 2020 and confirm they comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011, the Charities SORP (FRS 102) and the trust deed.

OUR AIMS

The PTA operates under a Constitution dated 16 October 2018 which includes the regulations for appointment of trustees. The object of the PTA is to advance the education of pupils in the school by:

  1. Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school;

  2. Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils

OUR OBJECTIVES

The PTA’s objectives are to raise funds to meet our aims whilst at the same time providing opportunities for the children, parents and teachers of the school to come together socially and build strong relationships both within the school and with the wider community.

REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

The PTA have enjoyed hosting its traditional Quiz Night, Fireworks and Christmas Fayre events and a Comedy Night. However due to the Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions, the PTA cancelled all its organised events, from March.

The PTA events along with our other fund raising from donations through Localgiving, Payroll Giving, the Bidborough Dragons and sale of Christmas cards and preloved uniforms have nevertheless allowed the PTA to raise significant funds.

OUR FINANCES

The financial statements show total receipts for the year ending 31 August 2020 of £25,284.12.

The principal source of income is the Christmas Fayre accounting for 25% of the PTA’s income. The PTA’s net of receipts from events and donations received (before any fees or donations paid) was £18,071.84.

Both total and net of receipts figures include £764.26 from the Bidborough Dragons which was donated to Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

The PTA have donated £16,999.07 to the School to refurbish classroom facilities and support learning projects.
