Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
After the huge uncertainty for the preschool in the previous financial year, where the charity made an unprecedented loss of £8k, the financial year 2021-2022 saw an upturn, returning a surplus of £3,453. The upturn was a result of implementing significant changes to the running of the preschool (improved efficiency of staffing rota, increasing fees) and also a marked increase in the number of children attending the setting.
Our achievements:
-
At the end of the year, 15 children moved successfully up to primary school and settled in well.
-
New children were welcomed into the preschool and our holiday club for children up to 7 years old was extremely successful across both the Easter and summer holidays.
-
We held a number of fundraising events now that COVID restrictions had been fully lifted including the very successful Christmas Crafternoon, a stall at the village fete, a jumble sale and the pre-school sports day.
-
We are grateful, as always, for the donations received during the year which have continued to help towards the revamping of the outside area and water play equipment. We would like to thank again to the Sway Carnival Committee and also to the Silver Hind for their kind donations and support.
We continue to appreciate the support we receive from parents and the local community and in particular the incredible loyalty and commitment of our wonderful staff.
