Accounting policies
The financial statements, wh￿h have been drawn up in accordance wrth the StaterrEnt of Recommended
Practice for accounting for charities, are based on the following policies..
Basis of accountlng
The accounts have been prepa￿ under the historical cost convention.
b. Funds
Unrestncted Funds- Aims & Objects
Comprise net accumulated surpluses. which are available for use in the furtherance of the general
charitable objectNes of the Tnjst Fund.
Unrestricted Funds- Designated
Comprise amounts that have been set aside by the Trustees for specfft objectives.
Restricted fijnds
Comprise funds and assets subject to spectfic conditions imposed by the donors.
c. Incoming resources
Donations are included in the year that the charity becomes enb.tled to re￿1Ve the income.
Investrnent income is included in the year in which rt is received.
d. Resources expended
Grants are accounled for on a payment basis. Other costs are accounted for on an accruals basis.
Investment income
All investment incnme received has b*n from bank or building society accounts.

The Charitsble Emergency Fund was estsblished to provide for sudden and unexpected worfd wide
emergencies that arise from lime to lirne. This fund is capped at £2,000. When the fund is used, the members
of The Rotary Club of Beckenham will be requested to donate to the fijnd to restore it over a period of time to
the capped amount of £2,000.
The International Charitable Fund was established to account for fvjnds designated for intemational
charitable causes. The Fund has increased during the year by contributions from the members of The Rotary
Club of Beckenham and from half the proc*Js of a Quiz. During the year. a donation of £590 was made to
ShelterBox and the half of the Quri prctteds of £212 was donated to Medecin Sans Frontiere.
The Charities Fund comprises ftjnds raised from the Club's annual Christma5 collections and other activities.
The Trustee's through the Club Board have designated that the amoun15 raised should be expended for
the benefit of children wthin the London Borough of Bromley and other worthwhile causes.
As at 1st July 2020 the balance on Ihe Presidenvs Charity Fund (now Past Presidenfs Charity Fund) stood
at £1,369 since which a further £31 was raised during the current year. The total of £1,400 has been
distributed during this year to the nominated charittes of last yeafs P￿Sident which were Careplus Bromley,
Cfoydon Remap, SeN Kent (Road Runners) and St Christophers Hospice Candle Project.
This yearfs President's Nominated Chafity is"Become" for which the sum of £1,486 has been raised but has
not been distributed * the date of these accounts. The funds raised included £350 from a Music Quiz, £281
from Charades, £212 trom half proceeds of a Qurz aTrd £468 from half proceeds of a Virtual Balloon Race.
Funds raised for Food Banks during the year totalled £2.275 which added to the funds previously held of £348
resulted in £2,623 available for distribution. A contn"bution of £987 was made to Living Well for Food Bags at
Chnstmas time and cash donations of £818 were made to LNing Well and £818 to Bromley Borough Food
Bank. In additiors, a further £1.01)O was donated to Bromley Borough FCKMI Bank from the Charities Fund.
During this Feriod of pandemic, it has not b￿n FM)ssible to hold the Swimalong ￿nd rising event
During the year. an In￿￿tive to provide Laptops to Schoolchildren priKJuced cash donations of £12,713 from
which 30 new Laptops were putchased. The cash donations have also been used to refurbish and update the
numerous second-hand laptops gifted lo our initiats"ve. The result is that over 190 Laptops have been provided
to schools and charitable organisation for the use of children.

The Foundation Fellowship Fund comprises amounts raised from donations arid various activities organised
by the Club's Foundation Committee. The fund is maintained specifically for Rotary Intemational's Foundation
Trust, to which payments a￿ made penodie21ty. During the year £1,500 was distributed to 'End Polio Now..
The Charfes Stock Legacy comprised an amount of £1,000 re￿Ived under the Nll of a former member of the
Club. The fund has been and will be used to support studentslyouths undertaking projects at home and
abroad in the spirit of the original legacy and now stands at £371 as at the Balance Sheet date.
The original aim of the Bowlers Hospital ArrEniiies Fund was to provide additional equipment for local
hosprtals, but this has been widened to include local charities. During the year, £834 was raised from
refreshments, raffles and competition entrarsce fees.

I report to the Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Rotary Club of Beckenham Trust Fund (the Trust}
for the year ended 30th June 2021.
R¢sponsibilities and basls of report
As the charity trustees of the Trusl you a￿ responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 1.the Acri.
I report in respect of my examinats.on of the Trusfs accounts (arried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in
carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charty Commission under
section 14515)Ib) of the Act.
Independent ¢xaminerfs statsment
I have completed my examination. I confimi thal no material matters have c£•me to my attention in connection with
the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material resFXt-.
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination lo which attention
should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
