Maiden Erlegh Preschool is a member of the Pr￿School Learning Allianw the laryest provider of pre-school
education in ihe county.
We are a small community 8roup managed by parents throu8h a commirtee, which is elected annually ai an
Annual General Meeting held in October. Appointed trU￿ee$ are nominated b> outgoing committee members.
All trustees give of their time freely and ￿tIVe no remuneration or benefits.
We are 8overned by a constitution adopt¢d in 14 Februfiry 2011 and updat•1 in July 2014.
The committee man8ges the administration of the preschool and employs the $￿ff. Day to day running of the
Ptr•s¢hool is overseen by the mangger Claire BartletL who is a¢￿Untable to the trustee5. Staff are responsible
for the children in their we. gnd for the planning and preparation of the educational programme and daily
activitie4 in Compliance with The FArly Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
We are re8is¢ered with Ofsted and are insrttted approximately every 3 yeats by them. No prior noli¢e is given
of inspections. but parents may be asked for their Comments during the inspection and will be able to read a eopy
of the Inspe¢lion Rewrt. We l&st had a visit from Ofmed in January 2015 and received an overall Gcx)d rating.
The Pre-school is a registered charity and confornis to the requirements of the Clwity Commission. We 8ft a
non-profit making group and aim to provide Pr￿sChool education at a price affordable to the Ioc4i community.

The Pre-school rents the r(M)ms in which it facilitstes Early Years edwation and childcare from FArley Town
Council.

Guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit principles. Tn￿tees, objectives are based on
public need in th¢ w of childcare and education. The public benefit of activities is in the access to
affordable. lo¢al child¢a￿ provision. The committee ￿Y4) provides greater involv¢ment for parents.

nornjal operating a￿1vItieS of th¢ settin8. These costs inc1￿Jed ststutory reAJundancy payments to s¢aff. closure-rel4ted
professional and athninistrative expenses. and th¢ transfer of the remainll￿ charitsble fund& to other ILK41 pre-8¢hool$.
As the9¢ w¢r¢ exceptional costs arisin8 directly from the closur< the financial regul¢s for the ytsr gre not comparnble
with ihos¢ of pr¢viou8 years.
