teacher Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, and to always remain a member of the Buddhist Union {N￿-1KBU}

Throughout 2023 Kadampa Meditation Centre Blrmingham provlded meditation classes and In depth study programmes to
the people of the local area.
Having moved into new premlses at 44 Blucher Street, Birmin8ham 81 IQJ in the latter part of 2022, 2023 saw the steadv
development of the centre and a corresponding Increase in course attendance
Throughout thls tome our Foundation Programme and TeacherTrainin8 Programme classes continued to flourish and the
practitioners on these courses contlnued to deepen their understanding and prattice of Kadampa Buddhism, The centre Is
developing new teachers of Kadampa Buddhism who wlll hopefully enable the centre to serve more people as time progresses.

In January 2023 we were dell8hted to welcome Kadam 8rtd8et Heyes, the Natlon•l Splritual Dlrertar of the UK and Ireland to teach g wonderful public talk
which was very well recelved.
In March 2023 wt ran a very suceessful day tourse wlth vlsltln8 teècher Gen Kelsanl Rabten- Natlonal Splrltu•l Dlr•ctor of Austr4114.
In Apill 2023 we r¥n # beautlful Maltrèya empowerment granted by our Resident Tèa¢her. Thls w•s very well attended by the core communlty os well as
others and provlded a mu¢h Jppreclated opportunlty for the communlty, new 4nd old to come together.
We r￿IntrOdu￿d the Ilvestreamln8 of classes to members In Aprll 2023 whlch made the ¢lèsse$ even more accesslble to petsple In the are* and contlnut to
be an appeallna aspect of membership.
Over the Summer, we hosted a serles of 3 publlc t•lks wlth vi51tlng t*acher5 Gen Kelsan8 Norden from KMCGeoT8la, Gen Kelsan8 Lekma from KMC
Southampton and Kadam Adam Starr from Tara KMC Dublln. These events pro￿￿ed a wonderful opportunlty for p•ople to be Introduced to medltatlor
prattice and were thoroughly appre¢lated by those who attended
In Au8USt 2023 we ran • very successfvl sponsored walk whlch ralsed funds forthe development of Dharma In the area.
Over the year, we held 3 very popular weekend fetreats, led by our Resldent Teacher Gen Ker￿n& Ltksang And hosted by Nagarluna Kadampa Medltatlon
Centre In Thornby, Northampton$hlrt. These provlde people with a 8reat opportunlty to re5ax In the qulet surroundln8s of the centre and deepen thtlr
experlence of Buddhlst medltatlon.
In September 2023 we welcomed vlsltln8 teacher Gen Kelsani Kh*tho8 who taught 4 beautmul hatf day course.
In October 2023 we fan a day COLtrrse wlth retlred G•neral Splrltual Dlrertor and Natlonal 5plrltual Di*e¢tor of Canada, Gèn.la Kelsan8 Khyenrab
Th15 event was attended by over 100 people and w35 much appreclated by all. We also took the opportunlty to celtbrate 30 yiirs of Kadampa MidRatlon
Centre Blrmlngham at thls event.
In December 2023 we received a beautiful empowerment ol Valrapanl from our Resldent Te3¢her Gen Kelsan8 Lek5an8 and ended the year n6cely wlth
very popular sFlent day retreat and new yeals eve event,
Movln8 Intu 2024 the classes attendances are contlnuln8 to Increase at the Clty Centre and also at our branch venues lfi Sollhull, Sutton Coldfleld and
Wolverhampton. We are also seeln8 an inerease In requests for school vlslts and workpl•ce vlsits. Th15 demonstrates a 8reat need and Interest In medkatlon
In the Blrmin8ham area and we100k forward to growlng and beSn8 able to beneflt more people by providln8 an Increaslng numbtr of courses In the tomln8
monihs and years,
