## **`OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES`**

The short and long-term aim of the charity is to provide finance for the Beacon Specialist Palliative Care Service.
```

Thetrusteeshavecompliedwiththeirdutytohavedueregardtopublicbenefitguidancepublishedbythe Charity
Commission.
```

## **`ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE`** 

```
Inthisfinancialyear,thecharitywasabletoraise£1,489(2020:£16,237)fortheBeaconSpecialistPalliative Care
Service.Thisincluded£nil(2020:£15,154)inrespectofashareofMarathonsponsorshipmonies.Thecharity also
received £64,431 (2020: £6,000) in restitution from a responsible official. This cleared the outstanding balance in full.
```

Thecharity'sexpendituretotalled£27,916(2020:£25,165).£25,876(2020:£25,877)ofthiswasusedto directly
supporttheBeacon(including£25,000specificallytoassistwiththeadditionalexpensescausedbythe Covid19
pandemic) and £2,040 (2020: £1,980) was spent to raise funds through the London Marathon.
```

Thecharityhas5"GoldenBond"LondonMarathonrunnerseachyearforwhichthecharitypays£1,980,with an
additional£60thisyearinrespectoftheVirtualMarathon.ThesearemanagedfortheFriendsbyPhyllis Tuckwell
HospiceCare,whoruntheBeaconCentre.Lastyear,thesponsorshipmoneyof£15,154collectedfromthe runners
waspaidtothecharitybutthendonatedbacktoPTHC.Thisyear,asthemarathonwasnotheldinthenormal way
becauseof the Coronaviruspandemic,any sponsorshipmoniesaccumulatedby the runnershave been rolled forward
byPhyllisTuckwellHospiceCareintotheyearthattherunnerswillactuallybe competing.Formostrunners,this will
be the 2022 event.
```

There has been no effect on the charity'sactivitiesas a resultof the Covid19pandemic,otherthanthe matters noted
above in respect of the London Marathon and £25,000 donation to PTHC.
```
