## Chairpersons 2025 Report. The trustees are happy to report that after another busy year of a steady procession of animals needing our help our resolve and commitment is as strong as ever. As are our volunteers who are forever coming up with ideas to raise much needed funds. The intake of animals although only slightly up from last year is still worryingly high, the requests from the public wanting to relinquish their pets is increasing. The trustees are of the opinion there is no definitive reason however we believe finances play a big part, vet bills, pet insurance and the cost of pet food are a huge strain on the family budget. Our commitment to local food banks and individuals who are struggling to feed their pets continues with surplus food from our pet food donation bins in supermarkets being donated on a weekly basis. Our long-standing relationship with Pets at Home Teesside continues bringing with it great opportunities to fundraise and raise awareness on the work we do and services we o�er. The trustees are considering an online shop with the variety of new goods donated to the charity, the trustees believe it could be a good source of income. We have secured funding to build a large secure cat enclosure mainly as a temporary holding space for feral cats. The enclosure would consist of a large Dutch barn for shelter fitted out with beds and shelves, there would be lots of outside space and enrichment for the cats, the barn would serve as a temporary holding facility for those cats that cannot be returned after neutering, and this could be for several reasons. They may be living in a hostile or unsafe environment or being threatened by people around them. They will stay with us until a more suitable and safe space is found for them. We are also hoping to complete our cat isolation unit by the end of the year as well as our Guinea Pig house providing them with a lot more space. The piece of land designated for a wildlife garden mentioned in our last report is now very well established and flourishing benefiting nature and our volunteers. Spending time in the garden is very beneficial for all and helps us cope with some of the rigours of our dayto-day work in animal welfare. As always, we move forward with positivity and resolve to help the steady stream of animals that cross our path. The trustees believe the growth of the charity is imperative through positivity and a determination to make a di�erence in animal welfare, raising the standards through education. The trustees would also like to acknowledge our volunteers and thank them; they keep the wheels turning day to day and pour so much time and e�ort into making sure animals in our care are well looked after.
