YMCA and DSS have worked tirelessty to reduce central costs vthilst ensuring front lina delivery remains at sustainable levels. Confuslon arwnd percAiv8d free childcare has réqutred marketiry campaigns to ensure parentsl gu8rdlans 8re aware of their entitlements and numbers at YMCA Stspplng Stones continue to grow and remain at sustalnable18vels. Durlng th8 period w8 have provided early years educatlon to over 300 children. Occupancy at both of our sltss has been good with some limits on the numbers we have been able to support set by a dffiojlty in recruitment of appn>priately qualffied staff. New models have enabled us to offer more flexibility to faMil￿s. maximis8 ratio requirements and ensure we continue to meet our social objectives of supporting vulnerable families with fully funded sessions. DSS became a vtholly owned subsidiary of YMCA Derbyshire in October 2022. In 2023 Derwent Stepping Stones achieved Ofsted Good ratings in all settings whilst Under￿ing a cc4nplete rebrand to YMCA Stepping Stones. The charity also became fully integrated into YMCA Lrfalong Leaming directhte as part of Earfy Year and Childcare SeNice alongside Ykidz ensuring comprehensive community access to lifelong learning and childcare. YMCA Management also advocated strongly for equlty In SEND funding ard devdoped growth strategy through 2024-2030 busin8ss plan.
