Dear Parents and supporters of 85[th] Milton Scout Group

As we are still living under restrictions we have decided to hold another an AGM by zoom as we did last year and would like to invite you to a (brief) Zoom meeting on Thursday 24[th] June at 8.30pm.

Every year we are required to hold an annual general meeting to update members on how the group is doing and elect people to the executive committee. Other reports usually given at the AGM have been attached to this notice, to keep the meeting as brief as possible.

The committee comprises of the Section Leaders, Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. The Chair, Treasurer and Secretary positions are elected post for the duration of 1 year. Currently, Lesley Morley is the Chairperson, Helen Hutt is the Treasurer and Secretary is a vacant position. Both Lesley and Helen are happy to stand for re-election.

In addition to these roles we have previously had a parent representative and a young person representative, to feed back the views of parents and to help shape scouting as youth led. Young person rep would ideally be one of the young leaders or possibly one of the older scouts. We would welcome (self) nominations for any of these roles.

The committee is responsible for the building, land and overall finances for the group, while the day to day meetings are the responsibility of the section leaders, with guidance and support from district level when required.

Many thanks

The executive committee

To join the AGM, please download Zoom if don’t already have it; scheduled for Thursday 24[th] June at 8.30pm.

## Group Report

2020-2021 has been a very unusual year. All sections have taken part in numerous activities, mainly online through zoom. All sections have had enormous success in achieving badges including the Bronze, Silver and Gold Chief Scout awards as well as gaining a lot of additional blanket badges. We have also successfully taken part in some district events, including winning the district hike. We are extremely grateful to Foxy for leading the sections online scouting from home. Thankfully we are now in the process of getting back to normal face to face meetings and looking forward to the sections to resuming all their previous activities in line with advice from the government and The Scout Association.

## Financial Report

We have been fortunate in securing additional grants to keep the building running through the lockdown whilst we unable to rent out the building to other people and organisations. Some of this funding has allowed us to subsidise some of the capitation fees and we are continuing to subsidise some activities to help everyone to resume the great activities and the future return to camping.

Hi Rob,

Please find the statements aached. You will noce that during the lockdown we have been receiving and returning £150 to Milton Art group each month, this is due to their treasurers isolang and them being unable to get to the bank. The Art group are planning to reopen as soon as the restricons are lied. Thanks, Helen
