Proposed:
Incomings £242,782.24 - Outgoings £236,014.TJ= Surplus for 2024 of £6,767.51.
The current balance of both accounts include provision for stsff redundancies should they
become necessaryand asthe staff are paid on a pro rata baSlSi part ofthe currentbalance is
wages owed, to be paid during school holidays.
Fundraising and donations for 2024 were £1,812.94. This is an increase of £763.86 from
2023. Thiswas due to an increase on general fundraising; this needsto increase if the
playschool is to conti nue to provide su bsidised activities and trips. Al I trips and special
events rely on funds raised.
Fees collected: £29,902.50. This is a decrease of £6,847.62 from whatwas paid in 2023.
The decrease is due to falling numbers and changes to the childcare provision funding by
the government.
Most parents are extremely good with payments. It is important that all parents paytheir
fees promptly if the playgroup is to continue operating, as non-payment of fees can
severely affectthe playgroup.
Ourwages and tax are still being dealt with by Paymaster. Paymaster has dealtwith staff
wages and tax issues satisfactori ly, i ncluding fi ling our tax return onl i ne for us and hel ping
uswith any newtaxlegislation. Theyalsomanagetheauto enrolment pension in line with
current legislation, ensuring we have met all our deadlines.
As a charityrun playgroup, we are a non-profit making organisation, so all excess money is
put back into the playgroup to improve the facilitie5 we offer. Whilst we currently have
savings, these have decreased due tothe high running costs and increases in employment
costs. We must ensure we have the money in place to help the playgroup improve.
In 20241 we invested £1,179.58 in new equipmentforthe children, this was a decrease in
£2,391.42 from 2023
In summary 20241 has been a difficultyear, duetothe increase in prices due to the cost-of-
l ivi ng crisis, falli ng numbers and the increase i n the national minimum wage and national
insurance rates. We have had to rely on ourfinancial reseNes to maintain the playschool
finance5, and whilstwe have maintained and replaced the current equipment as required,
we have had to put updating the provision on hold, hopefully this will improve in 2025.

Dear Parents & Carers
l am the administratorlmanager (Delia) for the setting. I work on behalf of the Jack and Jill

requiTements of our playgroup constitution and manage the day-t(HSay business of the
provision,
Our constitution sets out the wles that governs our charitsble pre-schcd and part of these
rules is that we hokl an Annual General Meeting (AGM) each year. At the AGM we present
our audited accounts and minutes from the previous year, rw)rt our PTcgress ar￿ what works
we have carrieij out during the past year.
This meeting also gives paTents the opwtunty to discuss and vote on any committee
matters. poI￿Y and committee member changes.

As at every AGM, l just like to start by explaining the restx)nsibilities we have and how it all
works. The Committee E the registered person for the group, the employers and have the
overall responsibility for the provision of childcare and aTe legalty respor6ible for ensuring
compliance with the Early YeaTS Register. regulatMY)s and any conditions imposed by Ofsted
and the Charities Commission.
Most of these daY-t￿daY responsibilities and running of the playgroup is laken on in a paid
position by Delia Bryan the AdminBtratorlManager and I will guide parents new to the

commtttee to become familiar with the procedures and processes in running a charitable pre-
school and their obligations towards the setting and their employees.
Thank you to all our past and present parenucommittee for Iheir confjnued support to our
playgroup and the time they have given us over the years.
I would like to reassure parents that our practitioners are kept up to date on all the current
guidelines and the risks involved wherk working alongside each other and wfth your ch￿dreft.
Although we will have new committee and often inexperienced offKers replacing positions
within the management structure Salty Howarth and I continue as managers of the setting. to
ensure we provide a high-quality service which works in partrbership with parents.
We depend very much on the goodwill and commitinent of parents lo fill committee roles and
work as part of the team promoting playgroup values and working together to govem the work
of the pre-school.
Lisa Butcher as Treasurer will remain in post. Relevant safeguarding and registrats'on of
off￿erS will be completed with Ofsted, until then existing officers remain in place. New

STAFF REPORT b Sal

I would like to give a brief summary of who we have working with your children and any
changes over the past few terffts.
We had a few stsff leave in the past year who we want to thank for their work and
commitment to our childrerl during their time with us. Lauren and Dan￿lIe left to go to new
nursery positions in the local area. Unfortunately, with rising costs wages and a s￿nIficant
dmp in chiklren attending the provision we had to Iwjuce the houts whKh just was not
enough to retain our staffing levels. W6 keep in touch. and they are dolng well in their new
posit￿ns.
l<hudija, l am sure many of you have realised has been absent due lo health issues but is
now retuming to work fvlty fft after the half term on reduced hours. Gemma has taken on a
ful￿tIMe position within the provision since September.
Lisa Holtum ￿ still our SENCO and looks over the overall care for our children with additional
needs, Lisa works 3 days during the week Shaunnagh Higgins works alongside Lisa in a SEN
Rale. All SEND enquires can be dealt with in absence by Deli&Salty-
A parent moming has been scheduled for Monday November 3￿ This is an opportun.ty for
us to share infomiation with parents about your children"s leaming and progress. We have

an open-door policy and welcome all parents to come in and discuss any COn￿mS or
questions about our group. Parents tSiscussions are welcome. not on the gate please. EmaH,
telephone or texting is the best method. We have introduced a private face book page so that
we can share uploaded ptctures of your children"s day wth you alongstde IMJatsApp photo's,
video.s but these are onty when practitioners working with YOUT children have time. The care
of the children comes first, I know some parents get disapFrf)inted rf not receiving regular
utxlates. All children at various times of the term will take part in our activities. we have had
ts of trips to the library for story time and rhY￿Es, shops to buy vegetables, shopping for
ingredients for baking and trips to the ￿ Fork Bromhijl to collect leaves conkers for our
disths and craft acbvities. On trips oui staff ratKJ is 1 adult 2 chifd when out of the setting
inline our child safety PTcKedures.
There are 50 families on the register, numters are quite low presenty. There is lots of factors
in low take up of places Includir￿ birthing rates. ￿ have a waiting list for after /2 temi and
January 26. In the meantime. we will continue to take in chiklren as they register throughout
the term. There is a definrte Tise in 2-year-old children taking places and now with more
funding being introduced for the 9-month to 2-year funding many though eligible cannot start
until the fdlowing term. We do send out regular reminders to parents regarding applying and
meeting deadlines for on going eligibility with working parent funding. There has been a slight
rise to fees per session, but we are committed to keeping fees affordabk, so we have parents
in our communty using our service.
All our practitioners continue to keep updated with relevant trainFng and online cerbfication
ienewals.
We look at OUT areas frequently making improvements as funds are aVal￿ble, we are non-
profft making and do rety quite often on donation of equipmenl, parents willing to help with
improvements so please offer your services.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Increase to fees & costs".
We discuss with attending parents the reasoning behind the recently increase childcare fees.
We like all small charitieslbusinesses are facing rising costs in wages equipment we
purchase throughout the year which has significantty impacted our finances and led to a
considerable decrease in our monies held in reserve. We will not be using any of our held
reserves at the moment for any large projects until our finan￿ stsbilise considerabty.
