5. Correspondence: Moyra, mentioned that Bernard Nurse (previously our Anonymous donor) has recently died, his death will be reported in the 2025 Journal. Monies remaining £510 to be allocated to an appropriate applicant this year.

7. Allocation of Bursaries: Seven applications were received; one applicant did not meet the Trust criteria and is to be advised to approach the RCN for funding.

Maria Theresa Depante £1,500 (Divided between Marjorie Speechley + Sister Judith) for an Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Spinal Injury Association, Puerto Rico.
Fritz Ann Espedido £1,000 (Ann Wildenberg Scholarship) for a PG Dip Practice Education at London South Bank University (LSBU)
Jon Gullidge £1,500 (Ann Baker + General Education Fund) towards a PhD, Auckland University of Technology.
Rev. Heather Turner £500 (General Education Fund) for five seminars on Studying the Scriptures (relating to Dementia) at Christ Church University Oxford.
Imogen Vining £1,500 (Sister Judith + General Education Fund) towards an MSc Global Healthcare Management (Leadership) at University College London.
Chrissie suggested that Tracey Carter and her two colleagues be approached on the 11th May to suggest that the League part fund a study day at the Trust from the Anne Wildenberg monies. This will help to raise the profile of the League.
8. Any other business: Moyra reported that there were two major issues regarding the new application forms. Firstly, when the application comes into the inbox the sender is not identified. The applicant’s name is not on the form it only states, grant application. Secondly, the form cannot be printed in the required format.
Jenny is to look into these issues
Chrissie mentioned the importance of raising the profile of the League and that the Charity Commission needs to see that the money is being used.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30 /09/2024
Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
