## TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT
Charity Name: Spetisbury and Charlton Marshall Playgroup Known as: SCAMPS and The Treehouse Club Registered Charity No. 1023882 Financial Year: 01/9/23 – 31/08/2024 Charity Address: c/o Spetisbury Primary School, West End, Spetisbury, Dorset, DT11 9DF.
Objects of the charity are to provide Preschool learning and extended childcare services to children within the local area.
The Trustees are selected either at the A.G.M or at committee meetings held approximately 8 times a year. They are elected by parents of the Preschool and the current trustees.
The charity runs with a voluntary committee of members made up of mainly parents of the children attending the preschool, breakfast and afterschool club along with other interested parties. We continue to forge a close relationship with the Primary school whose site we share. We aim to meet with the Headteacher, governors and preschool manager 3 times a year. There is one appointed Preschool Manager along with two deputy managers, responsible for the staff and the daily running of the Preschool and they are supported by several assistants.
We were fortunate to be able to fundraise this year and successfully raised £201. This enabled us to provide the setting with refreshing the outdoor space/garden area with new play boards and games and outdoor toys for both Scamps and Treehouse children.
We continue to build on the excellent relationships with the school enabling a smooth transition for the preschool children moving up into school. We continue to offer extended services of a breakfast and afterschool club for preschool and school aged children from 2 years up to 11 years old within the school term times.
We have amended our reserves policy due to the growth of the setting and aim to hold 3 months of running costs in reserve for any eventualities such as redundancy etc. This reserve is held in a savings account at our local Lloyds Bank.
At present we do not make grants, if we were to this would be a decision made by the committee.
In view of any major risks, we currently make decisions as a committee and vote on any matters arising. Cheques are issued by the Treasurer or Chairperson and must be signed by a second appointed signatory. The Preschool Manager check timesheets to ensure the correct hours are claimed and the Treasurer then checks for any anomalies before payment.

I report to the trUStS on my examination of the accounts of Spetisbury and Charlton Marshall
Playgroup for the year ended 313t August 2024.
Responslbllltles and basls of the report
As the charity trustees of the trust, you are responsible for the preparab'on of the accounts in
accordance with the requirements of the Charits'es Act 2011 ('the Act,).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under sects'on 145 of the 2011
Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity
Commission under section145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent Examiner's Statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in
connects'on with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect.,
1. Accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section10 of the Act,. or
2. The accounts do not accord with those records
I have no cOnmS and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
which attenb'on should be drawn to in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.
