TREASURER’S REPORT TO TRUSTEES

For the year ended 30 June 2024

Financial Summary

Total income for the year was £44,529 (2022/23: £35,850), an increase of 24% on the prior year. The principal sources were car parking receipts at Wycombe Wanderers FC (£16,303), a corporate donation from a regular supporter (£5,000), a legacy receipt of £10,000 from the estate of David Buckland (designated for local projects), sundry receipts of £6,049, and a Rotary International District Grant of £1,300.

Operating expenditure (excluding grants) was £2,741, comprising Charity Commission filing fees, float and Rotary Rocket maintenance, crocus corm purchases, and Rotary Foundation contributions.

Total grants and donations made during the year amounted to £33,572 (2022/23: £25,270). After these distributions, the Trust generated a net surplus of £8,215, bringing the year-end balance to £19,076 (2022/23: £10,861), held in the Charity bank account.

Reserves

The closing balance of £19,076 represents the Trust’s entire fund base; there are no restricted funds separately identified in the accounts, though the legacy from the Buckland estate carries a trustee-noted designation for local projects. The Council continues to monitor reserves in the context of committed and anticipated grant expenditure.

Grants and Donations Made

The following organisations received grants or donations during the year. Amounts shown reflect payments as recorded in the monthly accounts; any differences from the audited accounts total of £33,572 are due to clearing times between commitment and settlement falling across the year boundary. Grants paid to Rotary Foundation UK and associated international bodies are reflected in the audited accounts and should be read in conjunction with the Receipts and Payments Account.

Outlook

The Trust enters the new Rotary year in a sound financial position. Commitments already noted for 2024/25 include ongoing Leadership and Management course funding, LitterBlitz expenditure, and in memoriam donations. The car parking arrangement at Wycombe Wanderers FC remains the Trust’s most significant and consistent income stream; its continuation is a key assumption in forward planning.

It is my responsibility to:

BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

  1. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements: to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and to prepare financial statements which accord with the accounting records; and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act have not been met; or
