Objects: 1 The Provision And Maintenance Of A Public Museum Or Museums For The Preservation And Exhibition To The Public, Including Members Of The Public, Of Documents, Artefacts And Other Items Connected With The Regiment And The Former Regiments Or Connected With The Counties Of Devon And Dorset So As To Educate The Public And Members Of The Regiment In The Regiment's History And The Military History Of Devon And Dorset And To Promote Military Efficiency 2 To Provide Or Assist In The Provision Of Residential Accommodation For Persons Who Are Poor Deserving Members Of The Regiment Or The Former Regiments And Their Spouses Or Families Or Other Relatives Usually Resident With Them Either By The Provision Of Housing Or By The Payment Of Allowances Or Grants To Assist Such Persons To Obtain Or Retain Suitable Accommodation For Their Needs 3 A) The Preservation In Perpetuity Of The Memorials And Chattels From Time To Time In The Devonshire And Dorset Regimental Chapels In The Cathedral Church Of St Peter, Exeter, And The Abbey Church Of St Mary The Virgin, Sherbourne B) The Upkeep And Repair And Decoration Of The Said Chapels, Other Than Structural Repairs C) Provision For The Conduct Of Religious Services In The Said Chapels, Subject To Such Consents And Directions As May From Time To Time Be Made By The Dean And Chapter Of The Said Cathedral Church, Or The Vicar And Churchwardens Of The Said Abbey Church D) The Repair, Maintenance, Preservation, Improvement, Decoration And Restoration Of The Regimental War Memorials Of The The Regiment And The Upkeep Of Any Grounds Surrounding The Same 4 For Such Charitable Purposes As They May In Their Absolute Discretion Consider To Be For The Efficiency Of The Regiment Or Any Unit Thereof 5 To Provide Relief In Need In Accordance With The Provisions Contained In The Scheme Of 29th December 1989
