Trustees’ Report for 2020/21
The activities of the Whalley Village Hall Community Association were severely disrupted by the COVID19 epidemic, which resulted in the Hall and its associated facilities being closed to the public and local clubs and societies for all but three months of the accounting period 01/10/2020 to 30/09/2021.
Thus, the Charity’s income was much reduced even though most of the regular annual expenditure for building maintenance, repair, heating, lighting etc was little changed.
The Charity was the beneficiary of a substantial grant from the Ribble Valley Borough Council, which allowed the Charity to achieve a modest surplus of income over expenditure in the financial year.
The Trustees are pleased to report that the use of the Hall and the wide range of activities which it can accommodate have been restored to preCOVID levels.
